Great, but could be better

Shoreham is in the midst of upgrading apartments. Great views, though.

No temperature control

I enjoyed living in Shoreham so far. Bus stops and a grocery store are close. Major grocery stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's and CTA stations are 15-20 mins walk away, which is not bad. Management and maintenance services are great and neighbors are friendly.
A few issues I would like to mention here: there's no temperature control in each apartment, however, you have three levels to choose from, which is not as flexible as direct temperature control.
Wall is relatively thin because I have hear voices clearly in the bathroom. I don't have the same problem in my bedroom. Not sure about other rooms. Two months ago, construction had been going on for a while and it was disturbing. It is better for now.

Recommend!

It's great! The management is perfect. All people are nice here. And you can get the service very soon. It's close to the newsroom, grocery store, restaurant and bar. But the rent is a little bit high for students. The swimming pool is outside so forget about swimming in winter. And the sink doesn't have a garbage disposal.

Love it!

I love living here - great amenity space and unbeatable location directly at the Park on Lakeshore East. Awesome area for dogs complete with a double walled dog Park and a Mariano's located not even within 2 minutes directly across the park! Love the views and my private balcony South as well.

No complaints!

I loved living at The Shoreham. Free coffee in the morning saved me lots of money and Starbucks runs. The gym made it very easy and convenient to get in a quick workout, and afterwards I could go in the hot tub, sauna, & steam room. Amazing amenities and affordable apartments.

The Loop Reviews

Amazing place to have a social life! It is super close to Gleacher and to where recruiting events take place. Most Boothies live in this area and that helps creating a nice community. West loop with amazing restaurants is 2 metro stops/5min uber. TNDCs also happen walking distance. Its also where most touristic attractions are so its great for when friends/family visit you.
You should live in the Loop because it's easy for transit to campus and you're near others for group meetings. As soon as I graduate I'm planning on leaving though. You're by tons of shops and takeout/fast casual restaurants. However, I much prefer the neighborhood bars and restaurants in Lincoln Park.
Columbus plaza is on the quieter side, a few blocks away from Michigan. Tides and park millennium are even quieter but lack the river views that CP offers. It can be a bit too empty at night, which may be of concern to some. Most of the nearby restaurants in the pedway focus on serving office workers so they close around 6pm. Great access to river walk for running or biking.
This is the best neighborhood for Booth students to live, in my opinion. You can easily walk to Gleacher Center, catch the train to Harper Center, see most of your fellow students within your building or next door, and go to other neighborhoods for outings.
Living here is great because it's where all the Booth students live. It's the downtown area so it's not ideal for the social scene, but we're close enough to the action where it doesn't matter much. Also, we're across the street from the train.
Like living in the Loop to be near other students and it is not too far from other neighborhoods with good restaurants, bars, etc., but is a little far from work out studios, supermarkets, etc.
I like living in the Loop because 1) I'm close to the majority of other Booth students and 2) I'm close to the metra train, which I take ~4 days a week to get to and from campus.
The loop is a great place to live as a Booth student since it’s so quick and easy to get to campus. It’s not my favorite part of Chicago, but for school it’s a good place to be.
