Great River North building

It's been a great location and apartment! The floor plan is big, great views, lots of sunlight, a balcony, decent gym and pool/deck.
Of course the tradeoff is being about a mile from the Loop/the train, but the brown line is really close by and I don't mind the walk.

My Time at the Jones

I moved into the Jones in early-2015. Initially, I was super excited about the location and building's quality (it was brand new and opened in January of 2015). I was the first tenant of my unit and was happy to be living in a beautiful new apartment. While I am still happy over the location and quality, I cannot stress how rude the management team at the building has been over the last year. They have time-and-time again pitted themselves against my roommate and I creating a terribly uncomfortable living experience. Candidly, I feel as if they have worked VERY hard to make sure I don not renew my lease this Spring. I feel that this treatment is very specific to my roommate and I. While we have had complaints issued against us for noise, we have continued to apologize and let our management team know how we want to make sure our neighbors are happy and comfortable in their living situation and that our music is never a problem. Despite us expressing this sentiment (and them replying w/ hogwash along the lines of "we want you and your roommate to be able to live happily"), I feel as if the management team has ZERO interest in making our living situation comfortable. Again, we have felt marginalized and mistreated in the building. Our fellow tenants, who are all much older than us and, some, married, do not appear to be subject to this treatment. In fact, from small talk on the elevators and in the hallway, I get the sense that most people have no issues with the management team. Essentially, my roommate and I have been mistreated based on our age and the fact that we are in our 20's, having fun and living OUR lives in a building where they'd prefer different tenants.

Pricey but great apartment

Love my apartment at Jones Chicago! Each unit has a balcony which is a great feature. The kitchens are very modern and great appliances. Nice features throughout the apartment and I love that my unit has WD. Great pool, fitness, staff, and facilities!

Absolutely loving it! People are always out and about and it is a great place to enjoy with your friends! It is also close to a bunch of other great neighborhoods and so if you want to venture out, it is really easy to do so!
We love River North. It doesn't feel as commercialized as Streeterville or the Loop while still being in the thick of it. We can walk to nearly anything we could ever want. We visit the lakeshore trail and riverwalk regularly. Lincoln Park is a mile away, but that doesn't stop us from walking to the farmer's market on Saturdays (also passing the one on Division and Dearborn along the way).
Love river north! Really downtown and close to it all. Super young area with a ton of bars and restaurants. Also a quick walk to loyolas Watertown campus that I study at on the weekends.
It's great in the sense that its very central. I can get to school easily as well up to lincoln park, wicker and west loop. Also lots of walkable restauraunts and bars. BUT less green space and definitely a more "downtown" vibe
The neighborhood is relatively safe and well lit. It is great to be so close to many bars and restaurants and have close access to public transportation
An expensive neighborhood to live in, but you feel way more enmeshed in the city here than you do over in streeterville in my opinion.
This place is very touristy and often quite crowded, but it feels very safe and there is a lot to do. Restaurants tend to be very crowded but I've been to a couple that are very good - just need to make reservations in advance. There are also cheaper eating options (chipotle, etc). Within walking distance to a lot of fun places like Navy pier and the museum campus!
The River North Gallery District or simply River North, in Chicago, is in the Near North Side, Chicago. It hosts the largest concentration of art galleries in the United States, outside of Manhattan. River North has experienced vast changes in the years 1990 - 2012 including the development of vast highrise buildings, nightclubs and restaurants. River North has become one of Chicago's top neighborhoods for nightlife especially on and around Hubbard Street.

A common definition puts the River North neighborhood in the area north of the Chicago River and the Merchandise Mart, south of Division Street, east of the Chicago River and west of Wabash Avenue. Along with hundreds of art galleries, the area holds many bars, dance clubs, popular restaurants and entertainment venues.
