Overall rating 5.6/10, based on 5 renter reviews Write a review
Love 400!
A lot of these old reviews are from under previous management but Greystar has really changed 400 Meeting for the better. They care about their residents and the maintenance team is top-notch. They just got new security too so I feel really secure in my apartment. The rooms are huge and I have a view of the Ravenel bridge from my window. I love sitting out at the pool and the new coffee machine in the lobby. It is only about a 10 minute walk to campus and 2 blocks from King St with a million bars and restaurants. I would recommend any CofC student live at 400 Meeting!

400 Meeting St Review
Very overpriced, can’t leave the lease because you agree to pay for the whole year not month by month. They make their money by advertising safety, security, and luxury for people who either have enough money that they don’t care or come from a distance and can’t visit so they go with something that looks dependable, but it is basically just overpriced student housing with poor management and no way to get out of your lease, and a lot of the rooms border Nassau street which looks very different and less safe then the pictures they advertise.
If you don’t care about money and just want an easy (fully furnished) place or have a pet it may be good for you though.

Terrible Management / Property in bad condition
The units themselves are modern and livable, but the management is terrible and the property is always a mess. Management likes to blame residents for issues in the apartment. Broken HVAC, mold growing in HVAC closet after management locked them for no reason, missing flooring in our unit, cable doesn't work, broken fridge with no refund for sopiled food, etc. The amenities that they heavily advertise are NOT what they seem - the pool is always disgusting, there is never any propane in the grill outside, there is trash all over the place, the elevator is often filled with old food or animal waste. Staff locks access to the study room on the weekends so no one can use it. They raise rent every year with no incentive to resign but will give $800 to new residents who sign. Customer services stops as soon as you sign the lease. The only reason I have stayed is convenient location. The proximity to school is wonderful, but the area isn't that safe. The neighborhood behind the apartment is not safe. Apparently a homeless man died in the bushes last year. Overall, they are terribly understaffed and unprofessional. The corporate management office isn't much better, they refuse to speak with customers about property related issues. So there's no one to go to about issues with on site management.
