Looks nice but has roaches

Our apartment is in a very safe neighborhood. We have a very spacious 1 bedroom with hardwood laminate floors, updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances. BUT. There are roaches. Even if you're the cleanest person. Also the elevators are slow.

Safe building, good value

I like it for the price! My only complaint is the internet that's included doesn't work the best - we ended up having to buy our own. DirecTV is included! The doorman is also great, though and the rooftop was just redone. Bedrooms are big. The gym could use improvement. Having cats is free which is great for pet lovers - no dogs allowed. Lastly, there's no security deposit OR move in fees, you just have to pay 1st month's rent upfront.

Fantastic Choice for Young Professionals

2850 N Sheridan Rd in Lakeview is a great choice for young professionals in Chicago. I absolutely love the location- easy access to downtown via Lake Shore Drive, 5 minute walk to the lake, 2 blocks off of Broadway/ Clark/ Diversey- it's all you could ask for in the city. BJB does an excellent job at accommodating service requests, and having a 24/7 doorman is great for safety. The only downfalls I can think of- washer/dryer are not in-unit, but in a shared laundry room (which I don't mind, because there is a workout space attached to it), and there is no central A/C (also not a huge issue, because the building will install AC units for tenants, and it never gets too hot because of proximity to lake). Love it and absolutely recommend the building!

Rehabbed apt

2850 Sheridan is a great location in the city of Chicago. Variety of cuisines nearby, an upscale grocery store, a Walgreens, and a Walmart within walking distance make shopping a breeze, and of course there is a nearby Starbucks for those who like to start their day with a coffee or tea. The lake and the park are one block east, so beach yoga, running, and picnics are very accessible. The apartment itself is rehabbed and lovely, but the views are limited and aren't taken into consideration when pricing the apartments. My only real issue with the building is that the rent is over $100 more than I'll be paying one block west for the same square footage and management is very slow to respond to concerns (whether by call or email) and sometimes they don't respond at all.

This apartment is in the heart of lakeview, being between Wrigleyville and Boystown. There's no shortage of bars, restaurants, and things to do. It's also close enough to the lake to take a bike ride down to the beach or run along lake shore drive.
It is a very safe and friendly neighborhood. We have block parties in the summer on our block. There are lots of restaurants in our neighborhood and a really big Whole Foods around the corner. There are less chain restaurants and more neighborhoody smaller restaurants and cafe that I love - including the neighborhood favorite Scooter's Frozen Custard down the road.
There are a bunch of different places to choose from if you want to eat out. It is located right by Wrigley Field, so you can actually hear concerts/baseball games if the wind blows in the right direction! A lot of young people live in this neighborhood. Located right by Boys Town. A bunch of different grocery stores nearby- Jewel even has a parking garage if you want to drive! Very close to Public Transit - Red/Brown/Purple line & Buses. Noise level is moderate. Walgreens is a 2 minute walk away if you need milk/eggs or medication immediately. Wish there were more coffee shops, but there are only a few.
Lakeview is a strange neighborhood seeing slow change due to continued popularity and ongoing gentrification. What used to be a low-middle income area full of LGBT people and ethnic minorities is becoming more white bread and upper middle class.

It has numerous sub-neighborhoods, including the super bro-y Wrigleyville and the still queer Boystown. It has a mix of lower income co-op housing and slowly dying out SRO housing with luxury condos and high rises.

The area is generally safe, though the occasional mugging does occur and bar fights happen closer to the stadium on the regular.

The neighborhood is often loud and bustling with people, with hospitals on both ends (St. Jo's and Advocate to the south and Thorek to the north) so a lot of ambient ambulance and fire truck noise is normal, plus sounds from people going to and from the many bars and restaurants lining Broadway, Belmont, Halsted, and Clark. Festivals draw neighbors into the streets and block traffic frequently during the summer, including Pride, Market Days, Lakeview Arts Fest, and others.
More and more people are moving to Lakeview to the point where it's too saturated for my liking. With everyone trying to move to the neighborhood rent prices have increased dramatically. We decided to stay where we are because all the other buildings we looked at in the area had WAY higher rent and they were worse units
I absolutely love living in Lakeview East. Has a very homey community feel, and it is very safe. Right near all my public trans needs and accessible to many entertainment needs (Wrigley Field, Boystown, Lincoln Park, etc). Extremely pet friendly and family oriented neighborhood.
I absolutely LOVE living in Lakeview! This neighborhood has a great neighborhoody feel with so many great bars and restaurants. It is also so close to the lake, and very accessible to getting downtown! I wouldn't want to live anywhere else int he city!
I love living in Lakeview, it has a great community feel and lots of neighborhood events. The neighborhood also includes Wrigleyville (if that's your sort of thing) and Boystown, so tons of places to go out no matter what you're into.
