Grad Student at the Edge

Currently living at the edge as a graduate student has been very nice.

It is a quick 2 min walk to the subway to go to class or into the city for whatever reason. The grocery store is also on the same block along with many food choices - college takeout food choices.

It is safe with security and the police station is nearby.

I can't comment on noise really because it may be empty this school year due to COVID - but I live on a very quiet floor with laundry 1 door away and a gym right down the hall.

Any time I've had issues with internet or anything it has been fixed quick - overall good experience so far.

Could be better

It has been okay. Good security, cheap rent with everything included. However, it is small with a very small kitchen area. There is a shared kitchen on the first floor, and an Amazon drop off area. Clean common areas and it's nice that food delivery comes in the lobby.

Could be better

Very convenient, right next to the BSL, many restaurants and an AMC. Not too convenient when it comes to resources like a library, at this time. Temple library is limited. Takes 20 minutes to get to UArts.

There are spaces for studying and staff are nice. Security is good.

Housing is decent, you have your own little kitchen and bathroom. You might want to change the mattress, it's not comfortable.

Decent price

The Edge is one of the cheaper student housings that I have come across for a furnished studio that included internet. However, the building needs a make over. One of my bedroom walls has holes in it, the kitchenette is too small, the beds are old, half of the gym equipment is broken, the washer/dryers smell, and cable is suppose to be included in my rent, however the cable has not been working for the past few months. They tried to compensate by giving us Amazon gift cards, but it has been cut off for way too long. Luckily the internet was fixed, it use to be very slow and required an ethernet cord. The location is good though; there's a grocery store across the street, the subway station is behind the building, near Temple's campus, Bank of America is nearby, lots of eating places, and a well lit street. It is located in North Philly however, so it's best not to venture too far from the perimeter of the building.

Great Experience

The Edge has been a great experience for me. There are a lot of restaurants and grocery stores nearby, and the place is always buzzing with excitement as there are a lot of students that live here.
