Good, but not great

If you don't mind dogs barking occasionally, this place is pretty good. The management does hike the rent every year by an significant percentage, so don't get fooled if you get a good deal for the first year! At this point I am paying about the same I'd pay for a similar apartment in Manhattan. However, this building does have a few advantages that not many others can offer. First, all non-studio apartments in the building have a washer and dryer in the units. Second, the building is not far from the waterfront - if that's your thing, it is actually a very great location. Third, the area is very safe and feels somewhat suburban compared to Manhattan. It is a nice escape from the city without going too far. Finally, the building has a decent 24-hours gym. Overall, I'd recommend the place to a friend, but I do think they charge a bit too much.
