Long Island City is a hidden gem.

My building is great. The doormen are so helpful and friendly, the gym is clean and accessible, and the dogs are the cutest. Long Island City is on the 7 line, so straight into Grand Central (one stop) over the East River. The building is on the water - so you pay half (?) the amount you would for this apartment across the water in Manhattan, except you get to LOOK at the Manhattan skyline as your view. The neighborhood is full of life with restaurants, cafes, specialty workout studios, dog parks, food trucks, and a state park (Gantry State Park). This building is also on a ferry line.

Luxury Apartments with World-Class Views

The beauty of living in these high-rise luxury condominiums in Long Island City (LIC) is that they have a very intimate, community feel with world-class views of Manhattan. You are right along the gorgeous Gantry State Park with views of Queensboro Bridge, Midtown and Downtown Manhattan (Empire State, Chrysler Building, United Nations, Freedom Tower), and Roosevelt Island. You have easy access to the 7 train (10 minute walk from the building and the building also offers daily shuttle service during peak hours from the building to the 7 train which precludes walking on rainy/cold/lazy days). The 7 train stop is Vernon-Jackson and it is literally 1 stop east of Grand Central and with continuing service to Bryant Park, Times Square, and Hudson-Yards. You also have easy access with East River Ferry.

The building has great management who is very responsive with an on-site office for help and assistance. The building staff is very responsive in terms of picking/storing/sending mail, packages, delivery service, and dry-cleaning. The building staff is great with maintenance requests as well. They have an online portal to put in maintenance requests and to communicate with other folks in the TF Cornerstone community to buy/sell items. You have access to a great gym and a rooftop terrace. You have stainless steel appliances and a very modern/luxury feel.

The LIC community is a very rising community with ever-changing/increasing restaurants and bars.

Best way to describe this place: if you are looking for a place for a little more amenities, space, and quiet than most Manhattan offerings with easy public transportation access to its cultural/dining attractions, definitely rent here!!!!

Clean, modern, luxe apartments, but very sterile

You're not going to get much "NY big city" culture living here. It's a bit like living out in the "burbs," except you're taunted with breathtaking views from Manhattan. Which isn't all that accessible to you. Sure, it's technically only one stop away via the 7 train, but the walk to the station is a drag.
Aside from that, the units are huge and clean and well-managed, the amenities are great, and the management is really responsive. Pretty standard for a modern doorman building in LIC. If you don't want to deal with the mess and bustle of city life, this is a great option.

Beautiful views, desolate area

Probably because LIC is still being developed, and partially because most of the developments are very cookie cutter and sterile feeling, you don't really get a great city vibe living here. Unless peace and quiet is what you're looking for. You can't really just go outside and take a walk around the city at night. You can, however, stroll along the waterfront. Which has its own appeal, but can feel kind of lonely for a young person. The building is really high-end and clean however, and the amenities are pretty great.

Great amenities, luxuries, and space - crap location

The view across the East River to Manhattan is pretty incredible, but it's at least a 15 min schlep to the 7 train to get anywhere, and the train is down all the time. So you really feel quite isolated from the city (for better or worse). The management is super attentive and the facilities super well kept, though. Pricey.

Interesting neighborhood - lots of new construction and new bars and restaurants spring up all the time. Could use more food shopping options and a drug store though.

Transport links are second to none, you can be in Midtown in less than 10 minutes and it's easy to get to just about every part of Manhattan.
The building is in an excellent area. Right on the water, easy walk to multiple bars and restaurants. It is also a five minute walk to the 7 subway line.
Very safe and clean, many luxury buildings with young professionals and young families. Great views of Manhattan. Very residential - not many fast casual spots or stores, but there are good restaurants.
Quiet and calm place: meaning peaceful days, but just a few restaurants and placed to go nearby.
It's close to everything! There is always something to do.
Awesome restaurants, parks, views, commute.
