Aura

This is a great place to live. It's close to Addison and downtown Dallas. The amenities are pretty typical. Nothing special. However, there are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance. The management company kind of sucks. It took them over 2 weeks to get a simple letter saying my building has a fire alarm system (for lower insurance rates). Same goes for general maintenance requests. Other than that, would recommend.

Great New Property - Still Needs Work

They are currently working on phase 2 of this community. I have a feeling once that's done, they'll be more on top of things like social activities for residents, enforcing people cleaning up after pets, etc.

Overall, the property is new and though the units were clearly built quickly (some paint splatters, a crooked cabinet, etc.) - everything has good bones and the floor plans are well thought out.

All of the units have hardwood floors, so *of course* you hear your neighbors above you. But this is apartment living, so it's to be expected. If neighbor noise bothers you, buy a home.

The dog park/run is small, but well lit. The fence has a big enough gap under it that I've lost several tennis balls, but the dogs can't get out. I do feel they should do a better job of cleaning up in the park though. I pay pet rent ON TOP of my pet fee. I understand it is the pet owners responsibility to clean up after their pets (I always do), some people just don't. I know the property can't clean the ENTIRE property of pet mess, but the dog park is small. Sending someone to double check that every morning or afternoon when you make $500 per pet PLUS pet rent shouldn't be an issue.

The gym is well maintained, and in January it was pretty packed most of the time - but that's died down.

I haven't had a chance to use the pool since it's been cold since I moved in - but it looks pretty and relaxing.

My final note: the office used to be GREAT about giving us notice when we had packages. Now, not so much. Hopefully they'll be better about that again soon.

Great location - worth the money!

Aura Prestonwood is a great place to live - we have been here for almost 9 months and love it. Great location, great amenities, amazing management, pet friendly (up to 3 pets), quick response to issues, and brand new - meaning clean, fresh, and up to date finishes! Love it!

Quiet and spacious, but could be more active

I am new to Dallas and I really liked this apartment. It has a good gym and a swimming pool. Everything is well maintained. The biggest advantage of this apartment is having Walmart beside it. Walkable, which I find really convenient. The walls are thin though. But overall, a good place to stay.

Spacious, clean, and close to all the restaurants around Addision

Brand new building, amazing amenities including pool, gym, and common area. Enough parking spaces. Responsive maintenance, always responds to requests on the same day. Dog park is nearby for dog owners. Tons of restaurants in the Addison Area. Conveniently located off Tollway.

Getting around Far North Dallas

Far North Dallas Reviews

9 reviews
Walkable to lots of restaurants, bars and 2 movie theatres. Walk to major Addison events in Addison Circle Park without the crazy hassle that is parking at one of the complexes in the circle.
Safe, lots of families.
Nice area, lots of new stuff popping up. Many restaurants and bars in the area.
Bent Tree Neighborhood is across Trinty Mills and were the Plano Elementary school is called Mitchell Elementary. Good school and neighborhood. Dallas address but Plano school district.
Right in the middle of far north Dallas, you are minutes away from the Galleria, west Plano and Addison.
Living in Far North Dallas had its definite pros - close to anything you need (grocery, shopping, entertainment). But the character of living in East Dallas, Uptown, or Downtown isn't there.
When we moved into our apartment back in August, the selling point was that ALL residence required a background check and if ANY criminal background was triggered, their application was denied. This is not to say, I do not believe in second chances- but rather it provided an element of safety and protection, that as a young women- we were seeking.
Close to most stores and some fun bars. Less traffic than living downtown, but does not feel completely suburban.
