Expensive but good

Really close to Cornell and the shuttle helps a lot for people who aren't used to the snow/cold temperatures. The gym is nice and all my maintenance issues are fixed within 24 hours. Expensive, but worth it for someone who isn't used to the cold. The heat in the apartment is great. Sometimes I hear construction in the morning during the week but I have to get up for class anyway so it's not that bad.

Collegetown Terrace Fan

The apartment feels brand new, the parking is covered which is amazing in snowy weather, the grounds are maintained, and the office is relatively easy to work with. My only issue is that it is outrageously expensive - but that being said for collegetown it's completely normal. I absolutely love the apartment and I use the government PLUS loans to pay for it. The loans do completely cover the cost but with not a penny extra. You are on your own for electric and cable. Shuttle service is very convenient but it can get very packed in the mornings. Gym is kept nice and study rooms are also nice although always occupied. I'm in building 113 so it's very quiet and we have our own mail room, which is a huge plus. Overall I definitely recommend if you can swing the cost.

112 Valentine

The whole CTT complex is expensive and overpriced, but it's also a safe and reliable option, especially if you're coming from out-of-state and can't see properties before showing up. If you can afford it, it's worth the money to not have to worry about landlord issues during 1L year. An added bonus is that it's very popular, so you're also paying a bit more to be really close to your friends.

Pricey but I loved it

It was very pricey, since there one of the biggest games in town. It's super close to the school, it has a shuttle, a gym, covered parking (for an extra yearly fee), study/common areas, they generally don't bother you, the maintenance is responsive, and the apartments are actually pretty nice.

The lease is pretty rough but I found them to be pretty upstanding and the experience to be pretty good for a college-town apartment complex.

Collegetown Terrace (113 Valentine Place)

Benefits...
-On-site gym
-Option for covered parking (although you have to pay separately for parking and it's expensive)
-Shuttle runs to and from campus M-F
-Apartments are fully-furnished
-I had relatively good experiences with management and maintenance
-A lot of your friends will probably also live at CTT
-There's an on-site restaurant that does take-out
-Everything is pretty clean and well-maintained
-Internet and heat are included in rent

Cons...
-Pricey
-The walls can be kind of thin
-No pets allowed
-No option for a shorter-term lease (so you have to pay for the summer months)

Overall: I lived here all three years, would live here again, and would definitely recommend it to others.

The best option

This is the most expensive option, but it's worth it. The gym, the shuttle, in apartment laundry, all very convenient.

Excellent apartment buildings but can be expensive

These apartment buildings really are excellent. Management at Collegetown Terrace really does do an outstanding job. However, there are two important things to consider. First, the view from 112 will be ruined by the new building. Second, make sure to search for your apartment early. Apartments here can be tremendously expensive, however if you book early then you can find an apartment where you can get excellent bang for your buck.
