Don't rent here

DO NOT RENT HERE! I repeat...DO. NOT. RENT. HERE. They will tell you not to clean the apartment upon moving out. Red flag... They will charge you 1500 dollars for minor carpet blemishes that a professional company can clean and dents from where the bed/furniture sat based on a decision from the assistant property manager, who never seems to be in the office. Good luck trying to ever get an explanation from him. Oh, and if you have one minor stain in the entire apartment, be ready to be charged for each room because they don't replace the carpet on a room-to-room basis, even if the carpet is only a year old. 40+ dollars for "18" nail holes where pictures were hung (normal wear and tear) and tv mount holes, which supposedly required sheetrock repair. Things that can be spackled and repainted quite easily. I've done this myself without a problem for years, but again they tell you to leave it as is. Maybe they counted the nail holes that were already present when we moved in. Who knows?

They will not come on the agreed-upon inspection date and time (April 4th between 11-3), and even if you clearly mark on the document that you would like to be there for the walk-through, good luck with that happening. They entered when neither myself nor the other tenant was present a day after the scheduled date (April 5th at 12:06 PM).

Subpar "luxury" apartments. Cheap appliances. It would take 2 to 3 cycles with a small load of clothes to dry. The dishwasher had not been cleaned in years, it seemed, and would stink up the apartment each time it was run, even after cleaning the filter myself. Closet brackets broke when only partially filled. The shower floor is literally painted on and chipped in multiple places from basic weekly cleaning. Not to mention the cockroaches...

In my almost 20 years of renting, I've not been charged this amount or felt like I was set up. Absolutely insane. Let me note I have family who are landlords and family friends who clean carpets professionally, and even they were astonished at how badly they are scamming the tenants here. Rent here at your own risk or take my advice and look elsewhere.
