Way more expensive than you might think

I would not recommend using the Byron Company. All of their units are very old, they do not respond to maintenance requests in a timely fashion, and the units have thin walls. The insulation is poor so you will pay exorbitant prices for utilities and your apartment will still be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I lived at this address for two years and had working A/C for around 1-2 months. There were weeks in the summer where my apartment would not drop below like 85 degrees inside. Most of their properties are close to WashU so a big part of their business is renting to incoming WashU students and not improving the apartments. They know WashU students will rent them because of their location.

Old but cheap?

Byron Company units are not well maintained, old, and poorly insulated. A lot of them are cheap and walking distance to campus which is very nice when we have class on campus. The buildings are poorly insulated so expect to pay high prices for heat in the winter. They are slow to respond to maintenance requests. You get what you pay for with the Byron Company, essentially.

Location location

10-15 minute walk from school and right next to the loop. Not exactly fancy inside but suitable for a student and worth it overall especially if you lack a car
