Very good accomodation

- Clean and friendly community.
- Apartments are spacious and well maintained with a lot of storage space
- Management has been pretty good about repairs for our individual units
- Shuttle makes it very easy to get to and from campus except in the late evening, but the city bus drops off quite close to the residential area.
- Decent number of activities in the area (bowling, York restaurants, Fraser's pub for sports, etc) however no grocery store nearby means at least one roommate with a car is essential.

Great to be close to MBAs

Woodbury is great to be close to other MBAs. We have built a strong community here. There are some downsides here, though. It was stated breakfast would be provided and they only provided it one day a week. It recently increased to 3 days a week after enough people complained. However, breakfast should be five days a week and not 3. My unit is an upgraded unit w/o a washer and dryer. We have a shared laundry that takes multiple cycles to dry the clothes properly, costing more money to clean your clothes. We do laundry about once a week between my partner and me, and it cost about $40 or more a month.
Maintenance is excellent though they typically come the next day. Also, people forget to mention that when it rains hard or it's extra windy, there are power outages. Not sure if it is a DTE issue or a Woodbury issue. Also, not a fan of the gym; it could use better weights.

Good location to be close but not too close to campus

I enjoy being within 10 minutes of most attractions in Ann Arbor and not having to deal with student congestion of being too close to campus. Also, the mix of students and non-students in the community is pretty balanced. The apartments themselves are mediocre; if you have more disposable income, I'd recommend going for the upgraded apartments as the out-dated apartments are not maintained at the same level as the upgraded ones.

Poor Staffing and Quality

Over the past two years we have had multiple instances of poor management and maintenance while at Woodbury Gardens:
- Bees infested the apartment and the exterminator couldn't come for two weeks.
- Office staff gave the master key to a contractor, and had no clue which apartment they were entering. Told us to call 911 when we saw them on security camera.
- Dog park is covered with mud 9 months of the year.
- Loud neighbors with barking dogs.
- Marijuana billows from neighbors apartments.
- Management changed lease prices drastically when lease renewal approached.
- Appliances and service are subpar, money would be better spent at other locations in the A2 area.

Woodbury Gardens Community

This is the place to live if you want a little separation from the campus but still want a community of other Rossers! The apartments are fine but pretty good for the price compared to comparable options. Parking is free and you can reserve a covered spot for $25/mo. The pool and adjacent parks are nice amenities and the shuttle makes it convenient to get to and from campus each day.

Just what I need

The best part about Woodbury is the people. My neighbors are friendly and the staff are so responsive. I love the coffee every morning and have enjoyed working in the clubhouse, exercising in the gym, and swimming in the pool. Spacious and safe surroundings to walk my dogs in. Easy to get to campus; walkable to fun coffee shops.

Woodbury Gardens is its own community - so we don't get a lot of surrounding neighborhood effect and it's quieter.

I haven't had to go to school in person yet (due to the pandemic) - but once things are back in person, I would use the community shuttle to get to campus and possibly back depending on the time of day I head back. Otherwise, I would take the bus or walk. Walking takes about 30 min but the bus will cut down most of that since there is a city stop right at the entrance to Woodbury.
Overall, a nice and quiet neighborhood that feels secure and is slightly removed from campus, so you're away from the hustle and bustle of the University. Definitely a grad student neighborhood. Close to public transit lines, and there is a nice grocery store near the apartment complex. Running trails are nearby, and road access to I-94 is pretty quick as well. Within an extended walk of campus, the Big House, and Ross. Really enjoy living here.
I like the convenience of getting to Ross in six minutes for class, group meetings, or coffee chats. It’s great to be able to come home and grab a quick bite before changing into a suit and walking back over. Easy walk to hockey games, and about 15 minutes to Bus/Big House. Well situated to make it to social gatherings at Skeeps, Rick’s, Munger, or any other place.
Woodbury is on the other side of Stadium Ave from Burns Park, but it's convenient access. The complex itself is pretty friendly; lots of law students around though it takes a bit of effort to get to know neighbors since everyone is on their own schedules and it's a generally older crowd.
Quiet neighborhood, many UMich grad students. Good availability of shops and amenities. Definitely has a more suburban feel than the areas closest to campus/downtown and not as many restaurants/bars nearby.
Quieter area with more families and not many undergraduate students. Still walkable to campus, but you probably won’t want to do the walk in the winter and need a car to get to grocery stores.
The neighborhood has everything you need (grocery, coffee, pharmacy, etc.) and is close to the Big House. It is farther away from downtown's bars, restaurants, and other amenities.
Safe, albeit there have been bicycle theft issues. It is quiet here in the community. Walking distance to UM Stadium, not far from Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Plum Market, etc...
