North Loop

Trendy Living
North Loop is one of Minneapolis’s fastest growing neighborhoods, and is often called the Warehouse District, known for its stylishly repurposed warehouses. The neighborhood provides a chic urban living experience for the many students, faculty, and professionals who call it home. North Loop boasts a high level of walkability, and is home to many high-end boutiques, trendy restaurants, and innovative art galleries. The area is also serviced by multiple bus routes and the light rail, plus the bike friendly streets are popular for those who prefer an active mode of transportation

Housing in the area is unique and trendy, with a mix of refurbished warehouses converted into modern lofts and apartments. North Loop is home to a variety of popular bars and restaurants. Spoon and Stable, converted from an old horse stable to a beloved local restaurant, and Borough which serves up artisanal cocktails to enjoy with dinner, the area is sure to not disappoint. For those that love the outdoors, the nearby Mississippi River offers a scenic spot for walks and other outdoor activities. The urban neighborhood North Loop is perfect for those looking for trendy city living.

North Loop — 9.2/10 Rating (based on 14 neighborhood reviews)
Centrally located to the going-out scene in Minneapolis (North Loop, Northeast, easy to hop on 394 to get to St Louis Park), a safe neighborhood with a mix of younger and older people (both renters and owners). Near a lot of restaurants and gyms.

North Loop is a great neighborhood to live in if you enjoy nightlife and the restaurant scene. It's a destination for a lot of group outings in the Twin Cities, and new restaurants and bars are opening very frequently. Target Field and Target Stadium are within walking distance, and the Mississippi River is very close, which is awesome for biking and running. There are many places to walk dogs and grab coffee in the neighborhood as well. The only drawbacks are that it can be quite loud and busy, especially on the weekends.

More expensive than other neighborhoods, but this is a great neighborhood for young professionals (good to get away from the UofM as well)

Love the neighborhood. Can get noisy in the summer at night, but there's so much to do and great restaurants. It feels pretty safe for the most part.

Lots of fun restaurants and coffee shops. If you wanna be in MPLS, this is one of the safest areas to be in, people are always walking around with their pets. You are in the city, and you will hear stuff in the news but I have never had any issues or felt unsafe.

The neighborhood is awesome. It has a lot of great bars and restaurants and is an older crowd than near the U of M. Close to several grocery stores - has everything you'd need!
