618 South Main Review
Don't have time for this review, how does it help prospective students???

Ok but I could have done better.
I picked it because its a cheap 1 bed. The location is good for Ross. There's a good bit of space. Natural light is bad in my particular unit. Washer/dryer sets me back $3+ per load.
Doing this again I'd invest the extra 300-400 a month to relieve stress on furnishing, wifi, get a slightly nicer place.

Pricey but Worth It
Pros:
- Under 15 minute walk to get to Ross
- Newer build - no issues with allergies to mold etc.
- great place for dogs
- large kitchen islands - actually provides room for food prep
- high ceilings, hardwood floors in main area, large windows, some units have balconies
- maintenance and office people are kind and want to help (but sometimes this is met with a slower than preferred pace)
- pool and having a large common room for gatherings is a big draw
- they keep the place pretty clean and it is a modern, homey vibe
- free donuts every Friday from Washtenaw
- strong community of MBA students and other grad students - haven't really seen many kids or families which is nice as a grad student
Cons:
- parking is $200 per month (cramped spots, but underground which is key in the winter
- kitchen designs are beautiful but not practical - no horizontal shelves to store plates (have to install our own shelves)
- lots of active construction around (noise pollution)
- gym is SUPER small for the amount of people who live here - hard to guarantee a space
- some units have no front closet, kitchen pantry NOR linen closet (we had to get creative with food storage, linens storage and coats in these Michigan winters)
- the washer/dryer units in this building are weird and break often (but maintenance does try their best to see to it)
- can definitely hear the train come through Ann Arbor since we're next to the train tracks (but it's not as bad as it is at the Yard)
- basic internet package is provided (+) but it's the lowest plan you will likely opt to purchase the faster plan anyway

Management isn't good. Things don't work.
I would not advise anyone to live here.

Decent spot, good for one person
The apartment is in a great location and each apartment has a balcony and pretty big windows, which is a pretty big plus. Layout within each apartment is great, considering the size. Downside is that rent goes up without much room to negotiate: my rent went up 10.6% this year and when I tried to negotiate, I was told that 10% was the standard increase for them and they weren't willing to budge.

Conveniently Located, Room for improvement from Property Management
Great location near other popular housing and walking distance to the stadium. The property management company can definitely do better at being responsive and addressing concerns.

618 S. Main is the place to be
I love my rental company. Convenient location to campus and downtown. Close to several bus stops, minutes away from multiple grocery stores. Quiet, pet friendly community. Lots of grad and professional students. Property also offers a military discount.

High End, Well Situated, but Pricey
pros: definitely one of the nicest buildings in Ann Arbor, essentially all MBA students so strong sense of community, good for dogs, lots of light with big windows, free donuts on Fridays, 15 minute walk (uphill though) to Ross, underground parking, really nice maintenance staff (thanks Drew!), nice lobby - free to rent for events, fire pits and pool is nice, management is nice but often slow with follow-through,
cons: in-unit storage is limited (we don't have a linen, front closet NOR pantry), parking is super expensive ($200/month), package room situation is a mess - can take days to find your package, apartments were designed to look good, not necessarily to make sense (ex: there's no cabinet in the kitchen that fits plates - had to install our own free hanging shelves - this is common among a lot of the units I talked to), gym is way too small for number of people here, expensive for Ann Arbor (ours is $2650 for 2 bed, 1 bath, 900 sq ft), lots of construction around
