Plano

One of the Happiest Cities in America
Plano, Texas is a suburban city located about 20 miles north of Downtown Dallas. One of the biggest draws of Plano is its proximity to two major universities: Southern Methodist University (SMU) and The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). SMU is located in Dallas, approximately 20 miles south of Plano, while UTD is located just a few miles east of the city. One of the most popular destinations in west Plano is the Shops at Legacy, a mixed-use development featuring high-end retail stores, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues like iFLY indoor skydiving! Other shopping options include the Stonebriar Centre Mall and the Legacy West development.

For entertainment, residents can head to the Cinemark West Plano movie theater or the Plano Balloon Festival, which takes place annually at Oak Point Park. Oak Point Park is also a great spot for outdoor recreation, with over 800 acres of green space and a variety of hiking and biking trails. Overall, Plano is a thriving suburban city with plenty of amenities and attractions for residents to enjoy. Housing options are abundant with great apartment buildings like Ferro, Legacy North, Carrington Park, and many more showing availabilities. Its proximity to both SMU and UTD makes it a great option for students and academics alike, and its location just a short drive from Downtown Dallas provides easy access to all the city has to offer.

Plano — 8.4/10 Rating (based on 8 neighborhood reviews)
There is always something to do here. The North side of Legacy has younger people living there but an older nightlife whereas the South side has older residents and a younger nightlife. Legacy has everything you need from great bars, restaurants, shopping & even a dry cleaner on each side. Get your mornings at 10am at lululemon.

The complex is in an awesome location - so close to tons of restaurants and shopping opportunities, and also the toll roads, so you can easily go further out if you want to.

Carrington Park Apartments
Around the apartment, the neighborhood is very nice and relatively safe. There is generally no noise except for traffic and trains, which give off minimal noise anyway. The neighborhood is also close to a plethora of grocery stores, hardware stores, gas stations, and pharmacies. There are two Starbucks within 3 miles of each other, and there is also a mall nearby with many more retail shops inside. Only cons would be the construction on Plano Parkway and Dallas Parkway, and along the Dallas North Tollroad, which causes massive traffic backups during rush-hour. Otherwise, great neighborhood!

I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED LIVING AT THE SHOPS AT LEGACY IN A VERY BUSY ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT. EVEN BETTER, IT'S SO PET FRIENDLY! I LOVE HANGING OUT AT THE DOG PARK WITH NEIGHBORS AND THEIR FURRY CHILDREN.
