Germantown is a charming urban neighborhood, with busy sidewalks lined with cafes and shops. Named after the European immigrants who first settled there in the mid-19th century, Germantown is rich in its history. The neighborhood is edged by Jefferson Street in the south, Rosa Parks Boulevard on the west and Third Avenue North on the east, and is located near Fisk University. Germantown is on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered to be one of the nation’s best examples of urban redevelopment in recent years. Lining the streets with new loft condos, cafes, shops, and commercial offices. Germantown has a distinctive personality and charm with its unique eateries and vendors, and shopping. Offering tours of the state’s historical landmarks, The Tennessee State Museum, Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, and a 19-acre plaza, are all exceptional for those looking to dive into the history.

Known for its superb cuisine, Germantown offers wonderful dining options. A few signature spots include 5th & Taylor, City House, Monell’s, Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint, Dabble Studio, Henrietta Red, and Rolf and Daughters. Germantown is perfect for anyone looking to live in a neighborhood with a unique personality, which exudes Nashville’s historic energy.

Germantown — 9/10 Rating (based on 5 neighborhood reviews)
This is a good, small neighborhood to live in. There are some restaurants and shops nearby and the area feels relatively safe (however if you walk a few blocks over not so much). There's not really a decent grocery store nearby, but it is close to the Bicentennial Park and Farmers Market.

This is a great neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. It is also a good distance from everywhere else in Nashville, with highway ramps close by.

I LOVE the Germantown neighborhood! There are a lot of great restaurants and shops nearby. I have never felt in danger here when walking my dog, even at night. It's a thriving neighborhood with tons of young adults.
