Glen Allen

Separated and Laid-Back
North of the city of Richmond lies Glen Allen, a suburban town known for its safe atmosphere and welcoming community. Only a fifteen-minute drive into Downtown, Glen Allen is a great spot for commuters, whether it's for work or school. Just outside of town is General Sheppard Crump Memorial Park. This is a popular spot for many of the residents of Glen Allen. This park finds many people visiting it for whenever the weather is nice, and people want to take a walk and socialize. The park is a farm-setting within the woods, perfect for bird watching.

Glen Allen’s residents can be seen at the hopping bar and restaurant scene come Friday night. Q Barbeque, O'Charley’s Restaurant & Bar, Gino's Ristorante Pizzeria, Plaza Azteca, and Pizzaro are always good options. Bars that are worth the visit include Poe's Pub, Wonderland, Old City Bar, and Kabana Rooftop. Glen Allen is a great refuge of city-life but still close enough to enjoy it.

Glen Allen — 8/10 Rating (based on 10 neighborhood reviews)
My neighborhood is made up of small stores, apartments, and townhomes. It is very family friendly, but there are also a lot of young couples and singles who live here too! It is very pet friendly and there is a dog park in walking distance of the apartments.

Pros:
Chipotle, Target, Martins, Macy's, Best Buy, Dicks, Movie Theatre and much more are all less than 5 minutes away.
Safe neighborhood with nearby fire station, state police station, and urgent care clinic
Apartments are relatively new (built in the late 90's I believe)
Right near the 295/95/64 junction which makes getting to work, short pump, the fan, or downtown a ~15 minute drive.
Rarely any traffic congestion on the 295 to/from work.

Cons:
Although there is a BWW right down the street, you aren't walking distance from the good places most people go out to. Uber's will set you back $20 each way. Make friends with people with nice couches :)
