Downtown

A Vibrant Entertainment Hub
Downtown Tampa is the cultural center of Tampa, and is a vibrant scene full of professionals. The area is situated on the Hillsborough River and provides a thriving culinary atmosphere to residents and visitors. The area is home to upscale fine dining, cute and casual cafes, and a variety of bars sure to fit anyone’s preferences.

Downtown also offers a lot for residents and visitors to do. Boasting an active culture, you can typically find people walking, running, or biking on the scenic Riverwalk, or visiting the nearby Curtis Hixon park for a concert, picnic, or festival. The Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum, and the Tampa Theatre are also all within the Downtown area and offer activities for all ages. Sports fans can catch a Tampa Bay Lightning game at Amalie Arena or stop by one of the many sports bars in the area to watch and mingle with other fans.

Downtown Tampa is also home to the University of Tampa, and brings students to the area for their studies. Being in the Downtown area puts residents a short drive, bus ride, trolley, or river taxi away from some of the best dining and attractions in the area, but also provides easy access to I-4 and I-275, making all parts of Tampa accessible. With year-round beautiful weather, a thriving atmosphere, and plenty to eat, do, and see, Downtown Tampa is a lively area that attracts many.

Downtown — 6/10 Rating (based on 1 neighborhood reviews)
Before moving in to my apartment, I had never visited Tampa (or the West coast of FL at all). I assumed "downtown" was the place with restaraunts, shopping, and the bar scene. While it is cool to live downtown, everywhere I go is in the South Tampa area. I was expecting that living downtown would be worth the high price because I would be able to walk everywhere, but that is not the case.
