Lorenzo Apartments Review
Pretty good
Good, but expensive
Great amenities and commute options, expensive and restrictive with furnishing.
Recommended if you care for safety & comfort
The applications is quite extensive with various layers. To qualify your income needs to be 2.5 times the rent or have a co-signer that satisfies the income requirements. The pros of this place is that it's 5 minutes away from LLS. It's comfortable, with a sizeable balcony, appliances, including in-unit washer and dryer. The management makes repairs quickly. The elevator and door entrances need a special key. The down side is that you need to fumigate yourself if you do not want bugs in your apartment.
don’t let the looks fool you
When I tell you — record everything the second you walk into The Lorenzo leasing office, I mean it. The leasing management is absolutely pathetic. They lie, delay, and go back on their word constantly. Shae, in particular, has been incredibly unreliable and dismissive. You’ll find yourself chasing them for weeks over simple requests like lease updates, parking, or roommate changes — and even then, they often give you conflicting information.
To make it worse, their behavior changes depending on who you are. I’ve personally felt discriminated against and spoken to in ways that were completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
But here’s the thing — the apartments themselves are beautiful. The amenities are great, and the space has real potential. That’s what draws most people in.
However, don’t let the looks fool you. The management ruins the entire experience. So if you do choose to live here, protect yourself:
➡️ Get everything in writing
➡️ Record every conversation
➡️ Don’t trust anything they “promise” verbally
Living here is not the problem — dealing with the people who run it is.
The Piero
Close to campus. Good building if you and your roommate want your own bathrooms. Management is always professional and quick to resolve maintenance requests. 24 hour security guard and key fob entry. Feels secure for a young woman living downtown.
Great location and amenities.
The location is amazing because it's so close to campus and downtown, but still in a quieter corner of downtown with little traffic or pedestrians. Amenities include three spacious pools that are hardly used and very clean and well-equipped gyms. The tandem parking is the only downside, but that is common for apartments in this area.
Overall Good
Clean, sometimes can be loud but overall not too bad, good amount of space, especially for the price.
management stinks and the neighbors are weird
Management is rude and make a lot of errors. The people that live here are also super inconsiderate with noise and leaving trash out in the hallways. Something is always broken also.
The Lorenzo Review
It’s great living at the Lorenzo
Great place, but you'll need to take public transport to school
I love that a free bus (DASH F), regular bus (910 silver line) and metro (E line) are all 5min from the apartment. They take 15-25 minutes to get to USC Marshall. On some days I even bike to/from school.
It is also 5-10min away from Target, ChicFilA, Chipotle. 15min away from Little Tokyo. The 7th street metro connects to Santa Monica (to get to the beach, social events), Union Station (LAX direct bus) and to Long Beach.
What's not good - There is an advantage to being in the Free Lyft zone. And for me thats not the safety or cost advantage, but the social network it unlocks. Students that stay in the Fryft zone mingle much more since they do not have to consider the cost of going to a friend's place. If you want to be very social, consider this. For me, the amenities and connectivity Medici offered were better, but not everyone might make that trade off.
Management sucks
The management here sucks. They constantly make accounting errors with our rent and parking, and are incredibly unresponsive, incompetent, and disorganized. They will intentionally avoid and disregard residents who bring up genuine concerns like pest problems. The building itself is okay. The buildings have a cockroach problem and the elevators are broken half the time. The cleaning company they hired for general maintenance of the common spaces like hallways and corridors are pretty good though and come frequently.
Excellent if you have a roommate!!
It is quite expensive under a 1 person/bedroom model. However, it's both affordable and quite good if you can split the cost.
Broadway
Very expensive but a fairly nice place to live. Downtown is not the best area but fine
Live somewhere else
Not the cleanest or most well kept. Neighbors can be loud and packages will most likely get stolen if you are not quick to pick them up. Non-residents are frequently using the gyms and library unaccompanied by a resident, without security doing anything. Smells bad most of the time. Unhoused people will be sleeping in the walkway immediately beside the property.
Broadway Palace
Good price and a lot of amenities. Location is okay, management not super helpful .
