The quality and square footage is good for the price. Management is a bit slow with maintenance requests and responding to emails after you sign a lease, but it has not been too bad.
Don't Move in Here
I had a terrible experience living at Agave. The main gate was always broken, many break ins, packages being taken, and cars broken into. Dog poop was everywhere so most dog owner's and the property were not taken care of it.
Management was the worst. They switch management a lot but communication to residents is them "taping" important letters on outside doors that get blown away, if even were placed. They try to make sure you don't know your lease is up before 60 days and don't check their emails when trying to contact. When I moved out they tried to take my $2,000 security deposit AND charge me $500 for various move out fees. AVOID THIS APARTMENT!!!!
Also when you move out don't bother cleaning because they will still charge you and add on more fees. Terrible experience living here.
Agave at South Congress
This has been a wonderful hidden gem of an apartment complex in south austin. I would recommend touring the facility before completing any lease applications. Emily in the leasing office was AWESOME and as a resident on the complex herself, I know her ability to answer my questions were coming from an authentic place. The complex changed management in 2020 or 2021 I believe so keep that in mind if you’re reading google or yelp reviews from before 2020…AMP (the new management) is doing a good job at addressing the concerns of those public complaints. Also, I was worried that the spectrum cable and wifi would be bad, but it’s really awesome and I’m please to not have a cable box from spectrum, I access the shows via my Apple TV spectrum app. Overall great location and great apartment so far. There are areas of improvement of course, but overall I’m pleased.
Good
Great price and public transportation access. Very central if you are looking to do activities around Austin. About a 10 - 15 minute drive to the law school and 30 minutes by bus (I think).
AMLI Eastside Review
Great Value apartment
Good spot for the money
Decent building fairly close to campus, downtown, and E 6th. Two blocks of walking puts you on the main drag on East Austin. Lots of nearby restaurants and bars. Close to I-35, which is home to many people experiencing homelessness.
Good place to live
I haven’t had any problems living here. Good place to live. Not too loud
Excellent
Great apartment, great area. Have to bike or drive to school. Easy walk to Whole Foods, Target, cute shops, bars, restaurants, etc.
Good
Sometimes it is a little loud, but not usually a problem. The pool and gym are nice to relax as they are usually empty. Next to a bus stop with a direct route to the law school if you don't want to drive to school or a short 10 minute drive (not walking distance)
Good apartment
These are good apartments if you don't mind driving to class, average about 20-30 minute commute. Don't forget to factor in the cost of a parking pass though. UT just got rid of the largest C Lot parking which was the cheapest pass so plan to pay for either street parking or a parking garage pass. Also, if you have pets or need an extra bedroom these apartments are good. Safe, quiet neighborhood.
Good value apartment
Solid apartment at a good price. A little far from the law school but the commute by car is only 20-25 minutes in rush hour. Conveniently located by the train and multiple bus routes that go downtown and to the school. Inside the apartments looks nice with modern appliances.
Good bang for your buck and great location
This place is a great location: lots of food options along 11th St and walking distance to East side night life and downtown. Facilities are nice and management responsive
Excellent Location
Great location in east side Austin, lots of bars and restaurants walking distance. Also, 15 minutes walk to Rainey St, 10 minutes walk to East 6th and 10 minutes biking to Campus.
Fast Maintenance Service
I really enjoy staying at AMLI east side given its location that is pretty close to i35. It is in central east side of Austin and the apartment has a modern finishing with a rural look from the outside. The amenities include gym and large pool where I enjoy doing some laps especially in the hot summer time. Moreover, the maintenance requests are immediate and just take a maximum of 48 hours for someone to come and check up your issue. It is also a quiet place without a lot of parties going on at night.
Large, older property
I moved to the Amli Eastside before it was an Amli property, and lived there for 5 years. The location is great; apartments are spacious with pretty standard/semi upgraded features. Fob controlled doors and garages, so there is element of safety. When Amli took over, they painted, made themselves a new office space, and didn't really update anything else. Gym and pool area are maintained-pool tends to be a party area. Residents are friendly, mostly grad students/young professionals. Used to be a good value, but they jack up rent every renewal period.
