Solo Apartment

This is a great start to moving to Indy! I love that I can walk to the grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, boutiques, and parks. Campus is also reasonable to walk 25 minutes, or an 8 minute drive. Larger stores like Walmart, Aldi, and Target are about a 20 minute drive. I love taking walks to the canal!

The Whit Review

I really do love living at the Whit. I have lived there for both my 1L and my 2L year. Although more expensive than some options, I decided to live at the Whit so I would not have to worry about anything related to housing. The Whit's management is extremely helpful. The building is clean at all times, any issue in the apartment is fixed within the same day.
Package room that is locked (no issues with packages going missing)
Super nice gym with a squat rack.
Nice rooftop pool and multiple places to hangout.
Location is awesome right at the end of Mass Ave., but only about 3 blocks away from school. Allows me to get off campus but still be close.
My ONLY issue with the Whit can be the noise at times. My apartment faces the alley-way towards a local bar called 16-Bit. on the weekends it can get a bit loud. Usually, it is just the weekends and week-days are not bad.

Great Location but Pricey

The Whit is in a great location for students. It is close to Mass Ave. and it only takes me anywhere between 12-15 minutes to walk to class. The apartments are updated as well as all the amenities. The other residents are on average, working professionals. Some things that I do not like is all the noise. You can hear every siren and all the noise from the bar. I should note that my apartment is outward facing, so an inside apartment might have less noise. It is also expensive compared to other apartments for the space you get.

The pool becomes a party scene in the summer. I didn't mind this, but if you don't like that then you would not enjoy the pool. It is usually packed with loud music.

Reconsider for Law School

8 management rating Reviewed by on

I only rent from here because I split the rent with one other person. The update units are nice, but not extremely necessary when you spend a lot of time at the law school anyways. The walk to campus is about 15-20 minutes. The location is nice, and the walk isn't bad, but I would consider cheaper options for law school.

Beautiful amenities in an up and coming neighborhood

Somerset Place Apartments is a great building with lovely, spacious, like new apartments with great new amenities. The gym downstairs is wonderful as well as the rooftop deck and party room. The location and management left a lot to be desired however.

Great Place Overall

This building is very pretty and grand. It is pretty spacious for an apartment in the city. Everything is a cab ride away, or walking distance. The people living here are very quiet and considerate. Pretty good place to live overall! Perfect for young professionals!

All things considered, not worth the price at all.

$1600 for a 700 sq ft, one bedroom apartment 30 minutes from downtown.... I took the place because they wanted to fill it and were giving prorated units. I would never pay $1600 for it.
Lets start with the "amenities". The gym is nice, but its really the only thing I like about where I live right now. The single grill is locked up 24hrs unless you rent out a key, the party room is locked 24hrs unless you rent it our for $50 with a $200 deposit, they use 83 security cameras as a selling point, but its more for their use than our safety. You do get free internet, however, each units water heater is part of your electric bill so my electric is usually $200+ a month, so my bills end up being way more a month than I expected. Inside the unit looks nice at first glance, but the craftsmanship is poor. Cheap materials and bad installation.
As for Management, I am not impressed. Unprofessional and controlling. The building is beautiful but I feel like I cant enjoy it. They are clearly trying very hard to preserve everything because its brand new, but with the extensive background checks required you would think they would trust their residents a little more.
