No HVAC for months

1 management rating Reviewed by on

The specific unit I have is great, it has been updated, and is clean. However, my unit was delivered without a functioning HVAC system (I was without AC for most of the summer). The property management finally got me an industrial size portable AC unit after approximately a month after I moved in. I still do not have an overall HVAC system that functions including heat. I have contacted property management several times, they are difficult to get a hold of and when I am able to they give very vague or no updates regarding the situation. The Marion County Health Department has been made aware and they filed a violation against the property.

Review of Nine on Canal

Rent seems to be on par with other locations near IUPUI, though I think it's a bit pricey. There have been a lot of management changes, so communication was poor during times of transition, but it seems to be improving. The apartment space is nice, and they offer furnished units. They walk-in closet is a plus. I like the gym, but it can get hot if you're on the treadmill. I'm pretty happy with the package as a whole (it encompasses parking, water/sewer, internet). Living on the canal is a perk, too.

I wouldn't live here again

4 management rating Reviewed by on

There has been a lot of turnover with different management companies. The place isn't very well maintained, and it takes a long time to receive any help. Also, the apartment is very small for what you pay for it. Only nice thing is that it is very close to walk to school. Also, my bike was stolen but the security cameras don't actually work, so it was really sad.

9 on Canal

For the price, 9 on Canal is a great place to live. It’s really nice that utilities are a set price depending on the size of the apartment. The pool is great, but the gym is small. Sometimes it is difficult to get maintenance requests addressed quickly ñ, however management has changed so hopefully that will too.

Pretty good

There was an issue with my contract that I signed. They wanted me to pay an extra $60 each month for a bill that they did not consider before I signed my lease. Also, there has been lots of water damage attributed to leaky pipes. Management is not great, but nice amenities.

My Experience at 9 on C

8 management rating Reviewed by on

I love the location, steps away form the canal walk and a short walk to IUPUI’s campus! It is also fully furnished (bed frame, mattress, desk, coffee table, chairs, couch, side table, and build in organization in the closets) which is really nice and looks put together. I also have a decent sized balcony attached to my room which I spend more time on than inside my room when the weather gets warm. I also enjoy going to the study room which has a lot of windows and natural light, and hanging out on the sun terrace. I have had a lot of difficulty witch my HVAC system and the electric associated with it, however, management worked hard on getting it taken care of as soon as possible...and when it wasn’t an easy fix they provided me with accommodations. The staff is really helpful and provide little treats for you which is always a surprise when you walk through the lobby or fun events to go to. Speaking of lobby, it always smells like delicious coffee thanks to Quill’s (coffee shop)!

Great for first year

5 management rating Reviewed by on

This is an expensive complex, but is a great option if you are new to the area. The complex provides all furniture, a tv, and most utilities. All you have to do the first day is move in with your clothes. It's also really close to the IUPUI campus, allowing a quick drive to school or a quick walk. It is pretty expensive, but it does have a gym and a pool on the roof. Great first place to live. You can spend the year exploring the area and other apartments. I wouldn't want to live her for more than a year though.

Great apartment!

This apartment complex is pretty nice. The units are modern with new appliances. The community is great and the building is pretty quiet. There are events put on by the apartment managers with several including free food. Has a dog park on the 5th floor which is super convenient for pet owners. Parking is in the building in a garage. Units are a tad small and don't have the most amount of storage space. Has a gym and great study spots. It does have a pool and patio seating/tables. There's a firepit and a grill as well. Right on the canal and 5 minute drive from Methodist, 7 min drive from Eskenazi. Key faub to get into elevator and through all doors.

Lake Castleton

4 management rating Reviewed by on

I really like my place it over looks a lake and there’s a patio. There is walking room around the lake and it has a pool, gym, laundry center, public space, office.

I like my apartment because I have a lake view and it’s a comfy size place. They do have a tendency to be a little slow with repairs but they are good with follow up.
