South Junction Experience
Overall I have enjoyed the location. However, if you are a light sleeper I would not recommend South Line or South Junction. The Amtrak is right around the corner and trains go through throughout the day and night! I did have my car hit in the parking lot and there wasn’t much they could do about it. Nice facilities and maintenance is pretty quick!
South junction review
Apartment is well maintained and gated with constant communication with the administration. They do regular pest control and maintenance as seasons change. Apartment is spacious and well equipped.
South Junction
Experience has been great so far.
Orleans Station
So close to campus! Gated, well lit, and feel very safe. Less than 5 minutes from downtown. Tons of other BUCOM students living here. Also very very popular with other professional students at UT.
Orleans Station Praise
Amazing experience overall!
Obsessed.
I love living at Orleans Station, the property is quiet, safe, and very well kept. They do maintenance on the AC/Heater twice a year to keep it fully ready for summer and winter months.
Apartment
Generally safe environment.
9/10 - Safe, Clean Apartment w/ Responsive Management
I highly recommend this apartment to anyone that doesn't mind some city noise, which is why I give this a rating of 9/10. Some pros are that the apartments are clean, safe, and gated, with the UTHSC campus police constantly patrolling the area. The apartments are only 3 stories tall, if you do not like high rise apartments. The management is very responsive, and it's also very easy to page maintenance using your account page. Management is also very easy to contact and communicate with. In addition, it takes me no less than 7 minutes at the most to walk to classes at the General Education Building (where you will have the vast majority of your classes) from here (the exact same distance from the G Parking Lot, which is where most students are required to park), so classes are very close. Honestly, living here makes the parking permit nearly useless, unless you like to study in the library past 5 pm or during weekends, when students can park in the E Lot/GEB Parking Garage. The closets are walk-in, so there is a good amount of storage, and personally, the apartment feels spacious.
Some cons are that it is noisy, but that's to be expected if you're living in a city. Noises include construction across the street, hospital helicopters flying in patients, emergency services, and the occasional Medical District Park events. But if you have some noise-canceling headphones, you should be fine. Also, the walls are pretty thick, so I never hear my neighbors. In addition, there are occasional reports of car break-ins even in the gated areas, but I read a lot of reviews about apartments in the Medical District, Midtown, and Mud Island areas, and it seems like it happens everywhere, even in gated communities. Another con is that there is no in-house gym, but the SAC is right across the street, so you can use the student gym instead.
Location location location
This apartment is located right next to campus. You can walk anywhere on campus. It is also next to the hospital, but depending on which unit you have, you can hear the helicopters at all hours, even the middle of the night.
Great apartment experience
Really nice apartment complex with great amenities close to school!
Fantastic location and decent management
Living in Orleans, I never have to drive as the campus is only a 5-minute walk away. It is fairly safe as there is always a patrol car driving around, especially at night. The management is good for the most part. I have not had any significant issues with them. Would recommend!
Nice apartments
Apartments are new very nice. Management isn’t a nightmare like the other place I lived in before. Very close to school I love that I can walk to school. Only downside is that there’s no clubhouse/gym/elevator (which only sucks if you’re on the 3rd floor)/nice view from the apartment.
Positive time at orleans station
It is nice to live so close to campus. Complexes seem to be in a good shape and management has been easy to talk to. I am satisfied with my experience here.
Orleans Station
The best part about living in Orleans Station is being a 5 minute walk from campus. I really only use my car when getting groceries. It is very safe, peaceful, and quiet. Maintenance is quick to fix any issues.
Orleans Station
Clean, efficient maintenance, safe.
