Excellent Place of Residence
I've been living at this complex for a little over a year, and I feel incredibly comfortable with it.
Orleans review
Great apartments, good price
Need better amenities. No apartment gym or office space.
Maintenance needs to be better
Continence to campus great. 5 min walk to GEB or library. 3 min walk to SAC
Orleans Station Review
great place to be for UTHSC
Orleans Station
The main benefit of Orleans is that it is a close walking distance. The surrounding area is fine but I wouldn't venture too far out past the block. If you want a place with the highest level of safety and suburb feel then mud island is better, but Orleans is perfectly fine and has the advantage of being close.
Walkable and safe!
The apartments are connected to a neighborhood with a brick wall surrounding. It’s downtown so anywhere is walkable! I’ve gone to grizzlies games and walked to Beale street many times. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in Memphis!
great location, great property
Close to school/hospitals, gated community, great pool, spacious plans, new build, clean apartment/property
South Junction is Fantastic
I've lived at South Junction Apartments since the beginning of M2 year. I've found that it is a perfect living situation for med school. It's about an 8 minute drive from campus, and walking distance to Tom Lee Park and South Main. The apartment is spacious with lots of closet space. There is a washer/dryer in every unit. Maintenance is very accommodating and responsive. Also, there is an option to sign a 3, 6, or 9 month lease without an increase in rent. There is a small gym and 2 small pools on the property. The only negative things I can say about the complex is that the pools and gym are on the smaller side, and the complex does not have a communal study/conference space. Finally, the parking lot is for residents only, so guests must park streetside.
Overall, I have been very happy living at South Junction, and I plan to stay, at least until graduation.
Orleans Station
Generally pretty good and responsive. They’re new and still working out some kinks. Biggest issue I’ve had is Ethernet hasn’t been set up, so you’re pretty much forced to use the in unit WiFi. Which is fine, it was just frustrating to know they basically didn’t finish building the place and installed Ethernet ports for nothing. Same kind of issue with the FOBs not working on exterior doors.
Otherwise, I’ve loved living here. It’s super close to campus the apartment is great and I’ve been really happy living here. There are a ton of other students and it’s easy to get together with people.
Absolutely love it
Orleans is awesome, it’s literally right next to campus so super convenient to walk. Later in the day/at night, you can drive to campus if you want to study since the garage by the library is open after 5/on weekends. The buildings are basically new and security is decent, really nothing to complain about. Management is always working to make sure things are good. If you are a UT student, I would definitely recommend you live here.
Orleans Station
Within walking distance to campus, restaurants, and coffee shop.
Great
Close to campus, safe, quiet, and is mostly UTHSC students
Overall really great
I’ve loved my time here, and there really isn’t anything huge that I can complain about!
I love it
The option of walking to campus is super convenient and saves a lot of time. Since I moved in they opened a pool, gated parking, a cafe, and a couple new restaurants. It’s starting to be a great little community and a lot of UTHSC people live here.
This place is awesome
This was the perfect place to live for the pre-clinical years. It's pet-friendly and the staff are amazing. Could not speak higher of this place.
Orleans Station is a must for incoming students
Orleans Station has just about everything you need. Most of the units are brand new, and management has some good discounts if you mention you are a UTHSC student. I quickly realized I made the right decision by living here because I save a lot of money on gas by being able to walk to class, and having a completely gated residence gives me a sense of security given the nature of the area. Highly recommend!
