Not the best

Been living here for a few years during school only because it is close to campus. Front desk is a joke. They are the only ones stopping random people from being able to enter the building, no key entrance for security. Night shift front desk is HORRIBLE, either arrogant or under the influence and reeking of marijuana, building and super are aware but choose to ignore it.

Fordham Graduate Off Campus Housing

The studio apartments comes with a kitchenette, bathroom (standing tub shower), and 2 closets for a small amount of storage. The building is in a great location (safe and close to campus). The building has 24/7 staffing at the front entrance which adds a layer of security. I highly recommend checking out housing here!

Excellent staff, lovely unit; just too expensive

An absolutely lovely studio, probably the best I've ever lived in. The doormen are so kind and helpful. I won't be able to live here past this year because it's just too expensive, but it's a great place to move to if you're coming from out-of-state and don't have the ability to do the in-person search.

Adequate housing

When I first moved in they assigned me an apartment where the bathroom wall was covered in urine and the mattress was full of hair and I had to ask for another unit (as I didn’t know, this was the condition of the apartment because I was moving in from out of state.) There were also parts of the cabinet that were missing the glass. Two out of the four stove tops in my kitchen currently didn’t work when I moved in. Additionally, I was not aware of the very loud and disruptive construction that would be ongoing for the next however long until after I had moved in. The construction is so loud that I have to wear earplugs in the morning to get enough sleep. But, the doormen who manage the front desk downstairs 24/7 are absolutely wonderful. They always make sure I have what I need for my apartment to be in good condition and they are very friendly, helpful, and kind. Lucho, Sam, Richie, Adolfo, and Rosario are their names. They are probably the best part of living in this building.

Great location but needs some quality of live improvements

I am absolutely in love with with the location of this apartment, in my opinion it couldn’t be much better. However I feel that there are a couple of quality of life improvements that could be made, the rooms can be quite warm for example due to the central heating system, this is especially bad in summer.

Overpriced, not good graduate housing

I don’t think this building is suitable for graduate, especially law students. They have been constantly doing work since I moved in, making a ton of noise from 7am-5pm during the week. I’ll never forget the scaffolding right outside my windows during finals and the response was always “Fordham doesn’t own the bulging and can’t control it.” The super takes forever to do work after putting in a work order. I had huge chunks of paint falling on me while showering and there was no sense of urgency in repairing. During the summer, they were working on the pipes almost everyday and the water was brown 60% of the time. I don’t think this apartment is worth the cost and I’m sure you can find better for the same price point.

Solid

Good amount of space in the main room. Appliances and utilities are pretty old, but work. The kitchen sink is badly placed- pretty far away from the actual kitchen and very small space surrounding it, very annoying to do dishes. Not having AC was also annoying. Fantastic location though.

Convenient Apt Operated by University

Wilshire Plaza is the graduate house of Fordham Lincon Center. It takes only 10 mins walking to school, and ONLY 1 min to the central park and multiple subways. The facility is pretty old but acceptable.

Midtown Reviews

I always feel safe and welcome. The people are very nice and talkative. The sights are truly remarkable and living in Midtown is an extraordinary experience, especially with the bar and restaurant scene, the entertainment scene, and so forth. Even Central Park is a wonderland to explore in itself and can be done freely. What's also a highlight about this location is the accessibility of places and people around you; everything is in walking distance, unless you're looking to venture to another area of New York City. You will never run out of places to explore and people to engage with, as people are always traveling to and from New York City - it is a melting pot of many cultures and ethnicities and one of the most diverse places in the world.
I LOVE living in Chelsea. It's close enough to the office so the commute isn't bad but there is so much good food and nightlife around you so you feel very connected socially.
Center of the Universe, between time square and central park.
For commute to school, the NYU shuttle is extremely convenient with travel time under 15mins.
Great bars and restaurants, and close to Central Park, but a distinct lack of affordable grocery options.
5 minute walk to Trader Joe's. Target in-building. Fairway 3 minute walk away. Several bars and restaurants nearby on Third Ave. 40 minute walk to Washington Square Park area. 10 minute walk to the closest subway (the 6), but there are bus lanes nearby. Incredibly close to two major hospitals (great during the COVID age, but lots of ambulance sirens).
See first thing I wrote. Kips bay/murray hill has a great bar and restaurant scene, very young. You don't really go out Friday/Saturday night here, not enough dancing type bars, but it's awesome for just about every other occasion. Central location for everywhere that you would go in any situation though.
Great food, bars, and people and very close to multiple modes of transport to easily get anywhere in the city. There are several bus stops right at your doorstep and a ferry about a two minute walk over on the Ave C side. Easy access to East River Walk for other activities and sports as well. Very easy to get to major hub at Union Square by foot or transport.
