Traditionally one of the best neighborhoods, however my building is in the southern end of the area. Great restaurant scene (expensive) with things like Target and whole foods close. Not the best for nightlife in general but in the summer there are great bars near the water.
Not as quiet as everyone tells you! There are a ton of bars and nice restaurants, especially for happy hour. As well as plenty of latenight and seamless options.

Having every subway at virtually one station is incredible, so easy to get anywhere uptown.
My experience thus far has been great. In the summer time the seaport is very lively no matter the day of the week. I think the financial district is an up and coming area.
Neighborhood is quiet and great. Plenty of bars and restaurants but not crazy packed like midtown or les
Living in the FiDi was a great transition for a small town girl moving to the big city! Pretty much everyone goes home by 6 which leaves the streets quiet. The financial district is the part of the city that sleeps. There's multiple affordable grocery shops in the neighborhood, great dining on Stone St and it's home to the charging bull and The World Trade Center!
FIDI is quiet at night and on the weekends. Very safe. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants with great happy hour deals though. Lots of young professionals. Easy transportation from Fulton St. Station or Wall St. Would recommend.
I love the Financial District. It is very safe, very quiet and very up and coming. There are so many new shops and restaurants opening all the time. With the addition of WTC and Brookfield, it has become even more booming.
not many dining or entertainment options (besides Stone Street), but super convenient to subways. it's ideal for homebodies to me - access to the city is there, but the noise is elsewhere
