John Marshall Apt Review

The ceilings are super tall and almost every wall has head to toe windows. Utilities are a $25 flat fee which is really nice and it is new and modern so the dominion bill (which is the only bill you pay separately) is really cheap. Maintenance is great and fixes everything very quickly. It is also very secure and fun to be in downtown by so many restaurants and bars!

John Marshall is a very cool renovated hotel

Great location, good management company, and reasonable price. Parking is extra and the apartments can be on the small side.

Beautiful building with great management

I love living at the Residences at the John Marshall. The building is a restored hotel (the John Marshall Hotel). The apartments are quite spacious, my one bedroom apartment is 862 sq ft. The rent is a bit high at $1200/month but it includes water, sewage, and heating/cooling. The only electricity I pay for is the amount used by my appliances (not AC) and I pay for cable/internet. The building also has a gym with a personal trainer, a club room, a doorman, secured entrances with keycards, and a restaurant in the lobby. The management is incredibly responsive, helpful, and they do everything they can to make it a great place to live. They have a straight forward process for breaking your lease contract should you need to move (it costs one month's rent to break the lease). The apartment itself is amazing and has wood floors, granite counter tops and new appliances. There are huge windows along the exterior walls which means you always get great lighting and a view of downtown. While it is a bit expensive, the John Marshall is definitely one of the best places to live in Richmond.
