Spacious and clean

Very nice apartments and a great management team. We have a gym, pool, and pets are allowed for a fee. The apartments are large and very clean. Most have wood floors. The building is set up nicely allowing for quiet. I never hear my neighbors which I love. Quiet is important to me. Love them management team. They are always so nice!

Friendly management and solid building

I'm pretty satisfied with the building and arrangement. Parking is really bad in Shockoe Bottom in general, and I didn't have an option to purchase a parking garage pass because there's a year long wait list. The common areas of the apartment aren't that well taken care of, but the management is really friendly and helpful and everything in the apartment itself is pretty new and functional. Overall I'm happy with the apartment, it's what I wanted for my first year because I knew it was a safe area and a new building so all the utilities and everything work fine. But I won't be renewing my lease.

Getting around Shockoe Bottom

Shockoe Bottom Reviews

9 reviews
Shockoe Bottom has a decent restaurant/bar scene as well as some clubs. It's close to downtown so if you're working there it's a good option. Rent is getting steeper as more investment is made in the surrounding communities so that's worth watching. There's only one (overpriced) grocery store nearby and public transportation leaves a lot to be desired but that's supposedly changing. The area has a ton of character and the flip side to more investment in the area is greater amenities.
I don't venture out much because of COVID, but I know there's a bookstore nearby and some local restaurants (it's also right across the street from a Buffalo Wild Wings). I think I'll enjoy living in downtown a lot more when it's safe to go to the bars and stuff again.
It artsy
Near a lot of restaurants, bars, and green space. Good for young professionals.
Good.
The neighborhood is close to the medical campus for VCU which is great for my roommate being a dental student. one block from a farm fresh and numerous little restaurants within walking distance. One con is the train down there is loud but I have gotten used to it and it doesnt wake me up.
Lots of young people around. bars/restaurants/parks nearby
Parking is awful, but the cultural/social/restaurant/bar and club scene is amazing.
