As mentioned in my initial review, it takes less than ten minutes to walk to Seattle University. 11th Ave is somewhat unlit in parts of the area, but overall it feels very safe. The roads are somewhat narrow as cars are parked in both sides, so the roads can be kind of cramped to drive sometimes.

The neighborhood can be a bit loud and hectic, but it's very much a neighborhood despite density. Unlike much of downtown, it's a place where I feel like the community of residents is highly valued by both itself and the neighborhood as a whole.

The ID is a place that you'll either love or hate, depending on the kind of person you are. If you're looking for a neighborhood with great food, that's super close to public transit, walkable to downtown and has cheap rent--this is the place for you. Is it a little less safe at night? Sure. Is it louder? Of course. Do things feel a bit cheaper or run-down? Yeah. But if none of those things bother you you'll fall in love with the ID.

As three year resident of First Hill, I will say the pros are: easy on-street parking and access to I-5 and I-90, cheaper rents than Capitol Hill while still within walking distance of nightlife, close to the International District and Downtown, feels relatively safe.
Cons: no major grocery stores nearby, lots of noise, few restaurant options, no good local bars. Expect to walk, bus, or drive to many things you want to do.
Overall, the cheaper rent makes the out of the way location worth it.
