Great Brooklyn Neighborhood

Nice apartment with livable space, unlike Manhattan. We have two couches, a dining room table, and an elliptical machine in the living room, as well as a separate kitchen. All bedrooms have closets and windows. 40 minute commute to campus. Lots of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and laundromats in the area. Good for both families and those with roommates.

Lots of restaurants in the area. Great access to Brooklyn Museum, library, Prospect Park. I've always felt very safe walking home at night. Fun place to live and lots of things to do. Franklin Ave is very gentrified and the gentrification is definitely spreading out from there but there is still a strong local community.
Not next to any particular subway, but reasonably accessible to many. Good food. Safe. Interesting people.
The area is an up and coming neighborhood of Brooklyn. There are a lot of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood but still affordable. It can be a little dicey at night as it changes block by block. A train is very near by and in the recent years as gotten pretty crowded as the neighborhood has gained popularity
Crown Heights is a tale of two neighborhoods - the Jewish part and the Black/Caribbean part. Tensions between the groups run high, reflected in relatively recent history. Not being part of either major group, I don’t feel any of the underlying animosity directed my way. With that said, different parts of Crown Heights cater to different scenes, with better value found away from the entertainment scene (on Nostrand) and varies greatly in the span of just a block or two.
Close to the 2/5, semi-safe. On the brink of gentrification, which is bittersweet. Terrible grocery store (Associated), decent restaurants, good people. Close to Prospect Park.
Pros: close to courts downtown if you're interning
far enough from campus that you can get away
backyard space
lots of bars and restaurants
It’s a great neighborhood. Close to the park.
It's amazing. Lots of great bars and restaraunts that are delicious and cheap. Feels much more familial than the city.
