Gentry on M Streets

The management of the complex is awesome, maintenance requests are always quickly responded to, the complex itself is well-maintained and clean, and there aren’t ever issues with parking. I’m going on my third year here and it has been great.

The Gentry has been the perfect living space for me while at SMU. The community is definitely a little more mature than your typical college apartment complex. The neighborhood is very safe and makes me feel secure living alone. Although it is a little pricey, to me it is worth it for the safety and convenience. It is only about a 5-10 minute drive to campus, and you are super close to 75, so getting around Dallas is very easy. I would definitely recommend to any incoming SMU law student.

I love this complex on its own solely for the property manager, who is incredible and one of the nicest people. The complex is also well-maintained and maintenance does repairs usually within a 24-48 hour period after submission without any problems. I have never had an issue with people around me being loud or anything problematic within the complex itself, and have been in two separate units.

It's a quiet neighborhood with a park right next to it. The walls are thick enough that you can't hear noise from your neighbors most of the time. But if people are talking out in their patio or closer to your wall, you could hear them. Even though I"m on the third floor, I could hear/feel people below me stomping around.

This is my first rental ever, and I made an excellent choice with this place. I'm a business student at SMU and this place is just five minutes away from campus, and minutes away from Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, and NorthPark Center. Literally, SECONDS away from Mockingbird Station. The location and convenience are what I value most!

Pest control is on point. I've lived here for over four months and have not seen or dealt with pests.

One complaint I have is dealing with tenants who live in the unit above me. There is occasional "thumping" noises from the tenants walking throughout their unit which I understand is normal in apartment living. I may consider living on the highest floor in the future.
