Love it!

The property management company is super easy to deal with. All of the employees are so nice. The location is great - close to restaurants and also to school. Very cute neighborhood. The building is a mix of families and younger people. The units have a lot of windows and a modern feel, and do not seem super cheap. Parking is available and not terribly priced compared to others ($70 per month). They also allow pets. The neighborhood is generally safe, though there have been some car break-ins and I don't really walk around at night. However, I do not feel like these issues are specific to this neighborhood or apartment area.

Great for Almost Anyone

I think the price is low compared to other similar apartments. It is a newer building. Close to school, but not right downtown, so parking is better. I love the area - there are tons of places to eat and go for drinks/coffee/etc within walking distance. It is a very cute neighborhood. There are all sorts of people in the building - families, dog owners, single individuals, etc. The rooftop view is amazing. They have grills and multiple outdoor spaces to hang. The management is great and the maintenance people. Cannot recommend enough.

Great apartment but overpriced

The apartment itself is great - it is a new building, clean, very secure, great location, friendly residents, and super pet friendly. I love that there are TWO rooftop terraces, a pet washing station, and free coffee. However, the rent is too high for the area, in my opinion. I am currently subletting (so I don't pay the full rental price), but I don't think I'd recommend the apartment for most students just because of the price. You can find less fancy apartments in the same neighborhood for less. It is an incredibly nice building and I love living in it, but again, it is just too expensive for a law student like me.

I found the apartment on Craigslist. I saw the ad in May, viewed it while still in Minneapolis, and decided to sublet it a few weeks later after I moved for my summer job. I found it difficult to find a fall-only sublet that ran from August/September through December. Most only ran until October or November. I am doing a remote field placement next semester and I didn't want to deal with the headache of moving right before finals, so I needed a sublet through December. On that note, there are several apartments (like The Whit) that also do short term leases. I didn't know The Whit did short term leases when I sublet my apartment or I may have looked further into that. There is also one near Loring Park that does monthly rentals
