Review of Mercury Apartments
I've been renting since Aug 2025 and previously rented in 2 small cities of similar size and a city of 1M+. There are a few things of note about the Mercury:
1. Pro: centrally located in downtown. within walking distance to the majority of the bars my peers frequent. within biking distance to the Kelley school building. relatively close to grocery store.
2. Pro: responsive landlord. I had 2 minor maintenance issues that were resolved within a week. the property is generally well kept.
3. Pro: apartment is pretty spacious for a studio and has a large storage space and bathroom.
4. Con: my apartment is in a courtyard covered by the parking structure so I hardly get any natural sunlight.
5. Con: the rent increased to $1300/month. additionally I have to pay electrical utilities and another $100/month parking pass.
overall the apartment complex is in a good location relative to most in Bloomington but its a bit overpriced for the area and size. I would recommend looking at older properties or sharing with a roomate.

Law Student living at The Mercury
Overall, it's been good. It feels very safe, secure, and clean, and it is very spacious. It is a bit expensive and is about a 12 minute walk to the law school, but I think it's been worth it.

Great for grad students...minimal noise and great maintenance
Lived here for all three years of law school - happier than I thought I would be. The walls are thick enough to block out neighbor noise and I don't have to worry about watching television at night. Minimal problems with neighbors and I've loved the responsiveness of the maintenance team here. Would recommend.

Good, but pricey
The management company is great, they are extremely responsive and reliable. The apartment itself is pretty expensive, but it is located on the square, so it is nice to be close to everything.
Parking is $100 a month, which is really high.
They allow pets for $30/month plus an initial deposit. They don't love having dogs, but make exceptions for grad students.
Its about a 10-15 minute walk to the Law School.

Great View of Downtown Bloomington
We're on the 7th floor and have the best view of downtown Bloomington!
I love that I have an easy 15 minute walk through the heart of Bloomington to get to campus. We are on the square which means there are plenty of restaurants and coffeeshops nearby. There is super easy access to the B-line and a parking garage attached the building. (Parking pass not included with rent). The building is quiet and we haven't had any issues.

2 Bedroom 2 Bath at The Mercury
The space is great, I love the open concept and loft style of the apartment. We have had some minor issues with some appliances (dishwasher, laundry machine) but maintenance is always quick to come and fix them. Make sure to have your key charged for the entire period of you rent, otherwise it will stop working and you will have to drive to the leasing office to get a new one. Parking is expensive and not ideal. It is an attached parking structure shared with The Hilton and the public, so it is often difficult to find parking on my floor. I would prefer an assigned parking spot.

The Mercury Review
The Mercury is a nice place to live. It's close to all the downtown restaurants and shops, and close enough to IU's campus to walk everywhere.
Everything is newer, and having in-unit laundry and onsite parking (city garage) makes it a very convenient, easy place to live.

Mercury
This is very spacious studio with room for a bed and full living room set up (2 seat couch, 2 chairs, tv stand, coffee table). The building is very conveniently located to downtown, and is also walkable from campus. The building is pretty quiet at night with the occasional sounds of people coming from the hallway. There is a parking garage attached to the building (extra fee) that is extremely convenient if you have a car.
