Not so bad

The apartments are not at all updated, and the price seems average. Gas heat + range means you're only paying electric for the A/C in summer, when you may not even be in town. For the most part the laundry is in the mgmt office building, which we haven't found too inconvenient until we had a baby, when our laundry needs skyrocketed. The best thing about the apartment is the maintenance staff: they have shown up to fix everything we've had a problem with within 8-12 hours, and often less than one hour. Our unit has a little porch looking out onto a pond, and we've had a lot of fun watching the geese, ducks, herons and even a muskrat. Also, the walls are pretty thick, so I only hear a little TV from the neighbor at night, but I've never been bothered by any noise. Management doesn't do anything nice for us, but neither has it hurt us. No social life, but that's fine. Supermarkets are right down the road, as are a bunch of fast food restaurants. There's a neighborhood nextdoor that I take walks in, but almost no shopping is walkable.
