Fairly quiet

This is a condo, so experience depends on the owner. The building is mostly young families, grad students, professional students, postdocs, etc... Usually quiet. A couple years ago there was extensive construction that lasted over a year and was horrible....construction workers entering our apartment multiple days a week (with short notice) and our windows obstructed by scaffolding for 8months. This construction seems to be over. The only continuing problem is that sometimes the building management only communicates issues (garage cleaning, etc...) to the owners, but doesn't communicate with the renters. This has improved over the last couple years. Price is very variable between units and depends on the owner. I lived in a unit in this building when I moved to MN that was maintained by a private company (no contact with the owners) and was priced very high. My current unit is very reasonable, but we handle the infrequent repairs ourselves (or call a repair person which is covered by the landlord). Our landlord doesn't have to pay for a private management and he doesn't have to come here to do repairs, so he gives us a good deal. This building has fewer amenities from the surrounding buildings, but is quieter and more reasonably priced.

Near campus and transit

Apartments in this building are individually leased Condos. Each apartment has different management (yours will may be very different than mine!). The building is generally very quiet, but there are some loud dogs and children from time-to-time. If your unit faces University Ave, it may be loud during rush hour. The windows are large and allow for a lot of natural sunlight.

2 block walk to the light rail. The gym is mediocre at best (old treadmill and elliptical with some dumbbells). The University rec center is only a 10 minute walk from the building. No other amenities. Some units come with underground or surface parking (check with your landlord).

Good Living, Great Price

Easy access to the Green Line of the light rail and bus lines right on the edge of the green, residential Prospect Park neighborhood. Fresh Thyme market, CVS and Walgreens within walking distance, along with lots of great quick service restaurants near the U of MN's East Bank area. Unit sizes vary (not a ton of storage in the 1BR, but in-unit laundry!), generally a quiet community. Management is pretty responsive, with a caretaker on site during the week, and keeps the building in good shape. Exterior renovated and windows replaced in 2019. Underground parking is available for additional cost.

Nice place, but a condo

It's a nice condo building which is located within walking distance of a grocery store, light rail station, and several bars and restaurants. However, it is a condo building, so you would have to locate an individual owner renting their apartment. Accordingly, your mileage may vary with respect to landlord responsiveness. I found this apartment on Zillow.
