The Flats at Riverwoods

Feeling completely lied to and loopholed. There was a miscommunication between the management company and the managing staff of the flats on a move in summer special that led to us receiving an incorrect pricing quote on our rent. We received the contract and didn't sign it immediately which gave them time to realize their mistake and pull our contract. They did not give us any notification of this so when we went to sign the next day, we were very confused at why our contract had disappeared from our portal and WE had to reach out to THEM about it, after which they explained the issue. (Now wishing we saw that red flag and didn't continue.) We were disappointed because we really liked the complex and location, but the staff was super apologetic and wanted to work with us on finding a different unit in our budget so we decided to go with it and believe them. Turns out they verbally lied to us (specifically a new hire spoke with the manager and gave us the information she was told and now her manager is pinning the blame of misinformation on her being new even though when we later met with the manager she verbalized the same info!!) on what the price of our new smaller unit would be with the move-in discount and used loophole wording in our new contract to make us believe we'd be paying $250 less a month than what we are locked into.
!! I recommend audio recording your meetings with the staff and also trying to get what they quote you in writing FROM THEM rather than taking personal notes of what they tell you in person !!
Additionally, they almost never answer emails, phone calls, or texts (despite having 3 staff members on weekdays?) and so far our simple move in maintenance requests have been ignored. Not feeling hopeful about our next year here...

It is a great location with great amenities.
