Very safe, reasonably priced apartment with gym
Pros:
Very safe to walk around, especially for those who have late-night shifts
No carpet anywhere except the bedroom closet
Friendly concierge and reception
Dedicated area to unload and load groceries and moving items
Competitively priced
Fitness studio, large grocery store, nail salon, hair salon, spa, and restaurants right outside the building
Cons:
Appliance issues and slow maintenance
Apartments not maintained thoroughly - gaps in flooring and no caulking under baseboard in certain areas
Concierge is not 24/7 and can't reach the 24/7 concierge at the neighboring property for emergencies
Parking garage is not attached and there are sometimes individuals sleeping inside the elevator or parking garage entrance lobby
Overall, this place is very safe and much safer than the place nearby I used to live in (unsafe surroundings with near-daily police reports, didn't have a gym or parking garage but had impeccable maintenance). Never had a safety incident since moving here - and I have had several late night shifts. Always trade offs to any place, but I am much more at peace and at ease since I moved here. I would highly recommend the Beacon to any young woman looking for a safe, reasonably priced place to live.
