Great Overall Experience
I lived at home with my parents for the first two years of law school and moved to Silvertree for my 3L year. I am in a one bedroom with a loft. It was tough to initially get in contact with the property managers to discuss renting, but since we've moved in everything has been great. The property managers are very communicative with their renters, the utilities are very cheap in Wallingford, the inside of our apartment is very nice (high quality appliances, no structural issues), neighbors don't cause trouble. There aren't many people our age / students in this complex, but everyone is mostly respectful. The gym is not much to get excited about but there is a YMCA right down the street. Overall a nice apartment complex that is close to campus.

Good apartment for the price and location
For the price this apartment complex is much nicer than you'll find many other places. I've had no maintenance problems so I can't say how well management handles those issues but I've found them to be fairly responsive when I've communicated with them. It's only 10 minutes from campus and about 20 from New Haven. The area is pretty safe. My only complaint is there's no in-unit washer and dryer although there are some available in the office. There's also no dishwasher or garbage disposal.
