Living at Lakeside
I've been living at Lakeside Student Living for about 3 years now. Every year my rent has increased. The staff is the best part of the apartment complex. The maintenance staff are always kind, helpful, and timely. The front office staff are very kind and know my name and what apartment I live in. I initially chose to live here because of the cheaper rent and the good quality. I am upset that my rent has increased every year, and because of that they are losing their perk of being a cheaper but good apartment to live at. They are at the opposite end of Starkville from MSU so driving back and forth is necessary. The bus option they offer is helpful but ends at 5 pm so that can be very limiting for graduate students.

Do NOT stay here.
There is mold growing on the window sills, and they come to paint over it instead of pressure washing or cleaning it. For some reason, your clothes and shoes will get mold on them, and they don't do anything about it. They don't reimburse you for it, so you just lost a lot of valuables. The rooms are much smaller than they advertise in the tour. The water gets messed up all the time, meaning that we are under a boil water notice all the time. The washer and dryer is always messed up in my unit. When it comes to roommate situations, they don't really help you. They still give you charges on transferring and increasing the rent when you can't control the reason you need to move. Also, management doesn't stay all day during open office hours. They always leave early, so it is hard to contact them. The phone service is also horrible.
