Westwood Apartments

Neighbours are friendly, and the area of the apartment complex is also very nice. It is a quiet area with the exception of some parties by university students not in the apartments but in local houses nearby. The apartments are very close to the university and very walkable. The management is good, and responsive. The old maintenance worker was not the best, but management took care of that and have taken more importance on getting maintenance done when you request it. My only issue is sometimes with ants in the apartment, however because of the location of the apartment complex, it is easy to get ants if you live on the first floor. Management doesn't take care of the issue with ants unfortunately. When I moved in after about a month, there was some mold on the shower ceiling, but maintenance again asked my roommate and I to handle it. Overall, the apartment itself is nice and spacious, and considering the rent prices in the area for a 2-bedroom, this is definitely one of the better options. Also, a lot of other tenants are also students, with a lot of students doing their master's or PhD. This makes the area quiet and also great for families.

Apartment is very old. Expensive considering its age. The only factor is the location that make people to choose it. Very close to campus.

Best for Students

The 2bed 2bath apartment layout is very nice, apartment interiors are generally pretty well kept up, although I moved into a freshly renovated unit, so I can't speak for unrenovated units. The complex is fairly old, and the concrete foundation is noticeably cracked under the carpet in our unit, and one wall has cracks in the drywall. Covered parking is available for extra charge. Pool and laundry are on site and generally pretty good. Maintenance is generally pretty prompt and the current property manager is pretty easy to work with. One exception to responsive maintenance is that they will make you pay for any pest extermination, and many of the apartments seem to have persistent ant problems.

The best thing about westwood is that the rooms are big and include storeroom too. The central heater works on electricity and doesn’t require any gas. The laundry room is located in the vicinity.
