AMAZING location and rooftop views, but could use more amenities and a fairer parking rate.

I love living at Beryl. Our apartment is spacious and cute.

But the rooftop with a nice view, gas fire pits, and grill are the ONLY amenities in this rainy city and parking is $250/mo in a small garage where people who don't pay also end up parking.

Great location apartment complex

The Beryl apartment complex located in the center of Capitol hill with the walking distance to Seattle Central and Seattle University, grocery stores, and lots of restaurants and night clubs. For me and my wife it is very convenient as she is a student at Seattle Central. One thing that is not very pleasant about this place is that if you go to bed on weekends early you are not able to fall asleep because of the noisy people, partying outside.
Other than that it's a nice place to live.

Nice building

Have been living here for 6 months, so far everything is good. The only one little concern is that sometimes it takes a few days to get my packages delivered to my door like we agreed with the manager. Also $1800 for one bedroom is a little too much for the apartment complex which doesn't have lounge area. But all in all the living situation is nice here.

Great location

My apartment is in a great location, though sometimes it can be a little loud on the weekends with all the people out at the bars. The building itself is nice and management is responsive, though I would say that my neighbors arent always the most respectful of common space (cleaning up the BBQ, putting chairs back where they were found, etc). Overall, its nice.

Small but well-located and upscale

I love living at Beryl. My studio apartment is small (~490 sf) but it is well laid out and I don't feel cramped. I love the big windows and the fact that they open up onto a small courtyard with trees and a huge mural. The management has always been responsive and helpful, especially the maintenance guy (Frankie). I dont have pets but I like that it is an option. Parking is way over priced, but street parking is not impossible to find. This is the perfect apartment for a younger person looking for something centrally located and classy.

Capitol Hill Reviews

30 reviews
Capitol Hill is definitely not what is used to be - which could be good or bad depending on the person. There are so many great restaurants and bars in such a small area, plenty of grocery stores, and amazing nature through out. It seems like a real neigborhood versus some other larger city neighborhoods, which you can't beat! There can be some sketchy people that frequent, but nothing you can't ignore or won't see anywhere else.
The neighborhood I was attracted to and moved to was gritty, artistic, and full of expression, with lots of local businesses and a vibrant, supportive community. Now, if I were to describe Capitol Hill, I would call it white, sterile and devoid of character. Inauthentic might be the word. I would characterize Capitol Hill by it's designer running shoes, fancy baby strollers, drunk girls passed out on the sidewalk in their high heels, and bros getting into fights on the street. I would characterize my neighborhood by the increased amount of panhandling, and by people who don't give a care for the baristas behind the counter, the servers who keep them fed, or the artists who make this community come alive.
Love Cap Hill. Easy access to bars, clubs, and shopping.

the area is clearly in flux and growing as employers in downtown Seattle continue to grow, ie Amazon, Expedia, etc.
If you're in CapHill you know you're near it all; food, drinks, theatre, clubs, sports. I guess you could take the short walk to downtown but you don't need to.
Really dig the neighborhood vibe here. Good amenities (coffee shops, ramen houses, library) and green spaces. It's a lively place, with plenty of character.
North cap hill is quieter than Pike/Pine area. Walking distance to parks and great restaurants. Good coffee shops and close to transit.
Capital hill is by far the best neighborhood in Seattle. Has all of the bars and restaurants anyone could want.
The gentrification is REAL, it's lost some of its soul and prices are skyrocketing (along with the rest of the city) but if a true "city living" experience (living in a highly walkable urban core, diversity, arts/nightlife/entertainment) is important to you, it's still arguably the best neighborhood in Seattle... for now.
