Very nice, but somewhat pricey

The Avery really has some of the nicest amenities of comparable apartments in the area and really is relatively affordable. However, if you are looking for a cheaper apartment there are certainly cheaper options. Overall, its a great community and really is a strong value for what you pay.

Overall, NICE, but parking can SUCK.

So far, its been decent living at The Avery. Only complaints would be the loud SMU students that come home late Friday and Saturday nights & worst of all, parking can be a big issue (at least for me). I've come home late to find NOT A SINGLE spot available anywhere near my building. I don't know about anyone else, but the first thing I want to do when I get home late is crawl in bed, not walk a mile to get to it. On a more positive note, the management is great, as is the Care's team that throws fun community events for residents.

Getting around Vickery Meadow

Vickery Meadow Reviews

While the Village feels like an escape from the city, Greenville ave. is right there, giving easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and other kinds of shopping. Dallas proper is only about twenty minutes away by car, and DART is also nearby and easy to use. I have a 5-10 minute commute to campus most days, and if I didn't want to drive, the SMU express has several stops in the Village, making it easy to take (free!) public transportation.
Easy to get around, shop, etc. Good grocery stores and gas stations nearby. Quick access to 75. Mostly chain restaurants but clean and high quality. Easy to get to SMU, North Park.
Most of them are students or someone who works there. They are quiet most of the time except the party time, lol. But I can endure that.
Generally, the neighbourhood has been welcoming to internationals. People are willing to help in any case too.
Neighborhood is excellent here. Buildings are located in proper arrangements.
Pretty safe, patrol cars are in the area, few incidents of crime
It's nice with lots of families and walking space.
I like the neighborhood. It is quiet and pedestrian friendly. It is great if you are a jogger or have a dog! There are sidewalks, a walking/running path, and a dog park across the street and accessible to anyone living in the Village.
I also like that there are three different grocery stores within a two-mile radius and many eateries off Greenville.
