Overall I have really enjoyed living at the Avery. The complex itself is older, and I had a few issues upon move-in. But the management team is very responsive and helpful, and work orders are completed pretty quickly. The building I live in is very quiet - no noisy neighbors. Despite being a 1 bedroom, my apartment has lots of storage. Very spacious walk-in closet, in unit full sized washer and dryer, coat closet, even a closet on the patio. The complex itself also seems pretty safe. It is gated and patrolled by a Dallas police officer who lives on-site. The location is great - only a 10 minute drive from SMU's campus. Also just across the street from The Village, which has great amenities and walking trails. Visitor parking is free, and they can park anywhere in the complex that does not say "reserved". A few things to consider: there is no elevator (despite having three floors), you have to pay extra for covered parking or a garage, and it is NOT a non-smoking complex.

The building is old and has numerous issues that require your attention and maintenance requests. The electricity bill will be high due to the building's low efficiency. Additionally, it is not secure, and there have been instances of theft.

This is a really nice apartment close to campus. We decided to live here because it was just as nice as The Village apartments, but it was cheaper.

I completed the entire process of applying for this apartment via email. Of course, you can also make an appointment to visit. However, since I had a friend, I just asked about the fees and services. The whole process was very smooth, and the staff was very friendly. Check-in was also very quick on the day of arrival. Any questions I had were answered very quickly, and the problem was solved. Repairs can be reported online, and a staff member will be there the next day to help resolve them.

I have been very pleased with the Avery since I moved in. The price is very affordable and the quality is amazing. I feel very safe and comfortable here.

I totally like this apartment. People lived there are friendly and kind, the environment is so good and it is closed to my university.

The Avery really has some of the nicest amenities of comparable apartments in the area and really is relatively affordable. However, if you are looking for a cheaper apartment there are certainly cheaper options. Overall, its a great community and really is a strong value for what you pay.
