One of Houston's Six Historic Wards
One of Houston's Six Historic Wards, this is a neighborhood full of culture and hosts both The University of Houston and Texas Southern University. Popular spots include This Is It, The Original Frenchy's, and The Doshi House. It's in the perfect location as it's very close to downtown and an assortment of other neighborhoods so commuting anywhere shouldn't be a problem.

FYI, it was once home to Beyoncé and is still home to the Emancipation Park, which is a 10-acre park commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. If you're looking to live in an area full of history that's close to both major universities, this is the spot for you.

Greater Third Ward — 9/10 Rating (based on 3 neighborhood reviews)
I have not explored the entirety of the neighborhood, however being right on campus and in such close proximity to the school. The Lofts are tucked into a corner of campus where the only thing near them of campus grounds are a train track and the Spur 5 access road. It is usually very peaceful on this side of campus and I have had no issues with noise or loud neighbors at all. An occasional train my pass through, however that is the most noise I have had to deal with while living here.

University Lofts
Given that the University Lofts are still relatively on campus, residents don't really walk through Third Ward to come to and from school. Third Ward itself, as long as you're with someone and are being safe, isn't much of a problem.
