South Baton Rouge — 7.4/10 Rating (based on 16 neighborhood reviews)
The neighborhood has a lot of children, dogs on leashes, and is about 7-10 minutes' driving distance from the Mall of Louisiana. There are a lot of great and quick food options nearby, and there's a Walmart, as well as a veterinarian very closeby.

However, there are no sidewalks, and more than one person has been hit by a car on the side of Burbank Drive. Someone got hit and killed in front of the Firestone in 2016. There are still no sidewalks.

The Arts at Bluebonnet Place
Not in a traditional neighborhood. Complex lies between Mall and Ochsner. However there is a walking path along Ward Creek. No issues with car break-ins. Most people don't seem to realize it's here. Unfortunately you do need a car to get anywhere. There is some green space to walk pets with waste bags/trash cans available.

Safe neighborhood that is relatively quiet, especially for being so close to the interstate. Great for pets, and while people keep to themselves, you won't have many negative interactions.

The neighborhood is quiet for the most part. The community is near a train, so that's the most noise that is heard.

Feels pretty safe, apartment complex is gated, so walking around the complex at night feels fine. Essen Lane only has one intersection with cross walks, but everything is walkable and I feel comfortable walking by myself.

We're close to all of my doctor's offices, so it makes scheduling appointments before/after school easy.

The neighborhood area feels safe for Baton Rouge, but I am still not comfortable being out by myself at night.

There are lots of sidewalks so it is easy to walk to restaurants, bars, and the grocery store.

It takes me about 15 minutes to get to Tiger Stadium. Very close to shopping (one exit from the mall). Great for those who don't want to live near all of the undergrad housing, but wants to still have a reasonable drive to campus.

Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Neighbors are not overly friendly, but people are busy and everyone is just doing their own thing. Peaceful area, lots of pet-owners walking dogs, etc.

Quiet, even with 3 hospitals in the area. Lots of areas to walk and take out pets. Close to the mall, Perkins Rowe, grocery stores, and easy access to interstate. Everyone is friendly and keeps to themselves. Some cut through traffic during rush hour, but mostly quiet. We are located next to a small neighborhood of homes and a retirement home.

This west side of Gardere lane where it intersects with Nicholson is safe with several nice apartment complexes and proximity to L'Auberge casino. However, travelling east on Gardere, the neighborhood is known to be at times unsafe.

Gardere all together is not the safest location in Baton Rouge. But Indigo Park is located at the corner of Gardere and Nicholson and the issues on Gardere typically occur further down the street in other neighborhoods.
