If you are a fan of football, it is home to the Red Bull Arena and the MetLife Stadium. The area's location and the New Jersey Transit allows very easy transportation into the Big Apple. Jersey City offers gorgeous, unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

Depending on where you are looking, there are brownstone and brick row houses, high-rise towers, and Victorian and Edwardian mansions. Journal Square contains Little India - tons of delicious Indian restaurants and grocery stores. Other than that, most of the food options are fast food (e.g. McDonalds, Subway, Popeye's). Grocery stores aren't great - just a rundown C-town. BUT there is a weekly farmers' market at the PATH station, which is awesome. And not that many coffee shop options - just Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. I've never felt unsafe in Journal Square, but there are often regular beggars and scammers near the train station and it's definitely not as gentrified as Grove Street or Hoboken.

I personally really love living in Jersey City. It is very close to Manhattan, but doesn't feel overly crowded or dirty.

Love the neighborhood. The train station is a five or 10 minute walk and it brings you directly to the World trade center within 20 to 25 minutes. Right next to Newark so tons of restaurants and college bars around the area

Grove Pointe
Very safe neighbourhood which is always active. There are a number of eatout spots, including a spot on the same block where a jazz band plays live outside every Sunday afternoon in the fall and summer, bringing a nice musical feel to the street.

Not many upscale restaurant choices, trendy bars or coffee shops. Not much shopping, a grocery store C-Town is a 10-minute walk away. Upside is there is a "Little India" with great Indian restaurants.
