Braeswood Place

Best of Suburbia and Citylife
Bordering the outskirts of Houston and Southside Place lies the neighborhood of Braeswood. Braeswood is a quintessential suburban neighborhood, with a welcoming atmosphere. A huge perk to the Braeswood is that it is close to the city of Houston, perfect for anyone who craves a suburban lifestyle while still enjoying the energy of city life. Braeswood has a great combination of residential complexes and luxury apartments to choose from and is ‘inside the loop’ in proximity to Houston destinations. Braeswood is full of busy spots offering fun things to do, plus a lot of dining and shopping options. It is located near the Houston Medical Center, plus Karl Young Park and Linkwood Park are perfect places for residents to relax and enjoy the weekend.

The restaurant and bar scene is also bustling at Braeswood. Restaurants in the area include Black Walnut Cafe, Jason’s Deli, Hungrys’, and Prego. Bars that the younger crowd likes to socialize include The Bar at Bellaire, Bacco on the Bayou, and Little Woodrow's Bellaire. Braeswood is the perfect place for a suburban life while still having plenty of things to do in the city.

Braeswood Place — 7.7/10 Rating (based on 14 neighborhood reviews)
I live sort of in between West University (West U) and the med center. It's pretty safe, especially in the gated complex. You get West U style shops and areas that are gorgeous because it's a nice, expensive neighborhood without paying for a super expensive West U house.

This apartment is on a street that is not busy. There are other apartment complexes next door. It is right by the bayou which is great for running and biking. There are plenty of grocery stores nearby. Traffic from the med center is busy but not too bad.

Braeswood has a quiet neighborhood feel but is located near several large shopping centers. The area has everything you could want and more, but the traffic isn't as bad as River Oaks or other Houston neighborhoods.

Very safe and upscale neighborhood. Southside place has its own police department which is separate from HPD which makes a huge difference. No safety issue at all.
