Suburban in Touch With the City
West End is a great spot for those looking to be near the city but also have some space away from it. West End has a classic suburban feel, yet also commutable to the city of Richmond. University life is thriving. Plenty of students at the University of Richmond live here. The convenient commute makes West End popular for students and commuters. Up north outside of town is Bryan Park, a popular spot for many of the West End locals. Here, many events are hosted throughout the year including various walking trails and even a farmer’s market.

The people of West End have plenty of options to choose from when looking for a place to eat or drink. Many of the eateries near West End are highly rated online and recommended by many in the area. Highly rated restaurants in the area include Stella's, Continental Westhampton, Caturra on Grove, MOSAIC Restaurant, and Osaka Sushi & Steak. Many of the residents of West End like to go out of town to hit up bars in the city. Bars that many of them recommend going to include The Jasper, The Circuit Arcade Bar, GWARbar, and Penny Lane Pub. West End is a popular spot for college students and people looking to live a suburban life while having a quick commute into the city life.

The neighborhood is great! Most of the people you encounter are very friendly. Many people have dogs and children, which make the neighborhood a happy place.

Here and there, you may encounter some strange situations with people but nothing so concerning that you would make you not want to live there.

I love Carytown! It is full of great shops and restaurants. The location of Malvern is in a quiet, tree-lined area next to churches and schools, so there is not usually a lot of traffic.

The one risk is that the large glass windows and doors offer virtually no barrier to robbery and, with the blinds open, little privacy. The toilets are also excessively efficient, needing to be unclogged very often.
