Encanto

Diverse Architecture & Strong Community
Situated just north of downtown Phoenix, Encanto is a historic and culturally rich neighborhood located in Phoenix, Arizona. Its central location makes it easy to travel to the larger area of Phoenix with convenient highways and the Light Rail system.
Encanto's crown jewel is Encanto Park, a sprawling oasis in the heart of the neighborhood. This lush green space features a lagoon where visitors can rent paddle boats, a golf course, picnic areas, playgrounds, and sports facilities. The park's serene atmosphere provides a welcome escape from the urban hustle, making it a favorite spot for families, joggers, and nature enthusiasts. Encanto hosts the annual Encanto-Palmcroft Home Tour, which showcases the historic homes and their unique architecture. The area also celebrates various cultural festivals, bringing together residents and visitors to enjoy food, music, and art. Check out a local favorite restaurant, The Main Ingredient Ale House & Cafe for American comfort food with a vast selection of craft beers and cocktails.

Encanto — 7.5/10 Rating (based on 14 neighborhood reviews)
This apartment is in the good part of Encanto. Lots of good eateries. Definitely do not feel unsafe. No regular transients. Occasionally you will see them if you go on a walk, but none close to the apartment. Right by transportation. Located close to all the medical/business sector in midtown.

Across the street from my apartment is a very family friendly complex, so there are kids and families about. People walk their dogs around.

It's right across the street from Steele Indian School Park and the light rail stop. There are also many restaurants within walking distance, and all the shops on Camelback are only a short drive away.

In the heart of the city, close to restaurants, parks and the I-10 freeway. Ideal location for any Phoenix CHC 2nd-4th year to have a 30 minute commute to any rotation site.

Because we are so close to Central City (just north of I-10), we haven't felt much connection to the larger Midtown/Encanto neighborhood. But the encounter we have had have been wonderful

Right next to a fire department so the noise can be distracting. Lots of homeless people but that seems to be the norm. More industrial than I would like but still doable.

Nothing bad to say and no bad experiences. It isn't high-class, but as law students we shouldn't be living that way as-is! There are plenty of beautiful apartments with plenty of space in a much more affordable price range. Worth it!

The complex backs right up the the historic arts district, including the art museum, the opera, and a quaint neighborhood of beautiful houses. It’s also super close to the Safeway and to central ave.

I don't feel safe walking after dark, and prefer to walk with someone else during the daytime, but it is very conveniently located.
