Skinker-Debaliviere — 8.6/10 Rating (based on 18 neighborhood reviews)
First and foremost, the neighborhood feels reasonably safe. It is frequently patrolled by WashU Campus Police and it’s well populated. People are often outside and around so you rarely feel alone. Neighbors are a mix of locals and students, all of whom are kind and friendly.

Aesthetically, it’s a very pretty neighborhood. A lot of interesting architecture. Street parking is free.

Perfect for someone on WashU’s campus every day. Definitely not a ‘cool’ neighborhood to hang out in, it’s very residential.

There isn’t much going on in the neighborhood in the way of bars or restaurants, but with some new development that may change. The neighborhood feels safe and is very good for transit to the school with a shuttle and metro line.

The neighborhood is quiet for the most part and feels pretty safe. It stays well-maintained and passing neighbors seem friendly. However, it is close to Forest Park and a few robberies have happened close by over the last few months. Nothing has happened to me directly, but it's something I have to consider. There is also a coffee shop and a pizza place close by, so that is a plus.

I like that it's very close to Forest Park. There are coffee shops and restaurants around, which is nice. Not a huge nightlife area though. It is also close to the school. I can walk from my apartment to the law school and I feel safe doing that at any time.

Very friendly neighborhood with a good mix of college kids and families. There are often community events held in a park about a 5 min walk away. We have a dog and there is plenty of grass. Campus security also patrols the area with great frequency.

The neighbor hood is a fairly quite area. There are residential homes nearby and a Snarf's next door to the apartment complex. There are often people running down the street or walking their dogs. The neighborhood is family and pet friendly, but the apartment complex itself only allows one person to live in the apartment and does not allow pets.

Safe overall, I've never felt unsafe at least. Not much in the neighborhood, though. Have to leave to go to any bars, restaurants, entertainment, grocery stores, etc. But close to them all while not being so close to be tempting to always go.

I love it here. People are very friendly and it is relatively quiet. There have been some safety issues but campus police generally respond quickly and their presence is very obvious.

The neighborhood feels like it is catered to a younger age group because it is primarily students that live near me. There are always people outside walking or sitting outside of their apartments and talking. The street is not super busy with cars, but it is close to a main road.
