Camden Lamar Heights Review
Its near food options you can drive to or even some walkable distance away. It is close to the highway which means there is road noise but also easy to get around the city and to school.

Two Thumbs Up
Ideal for Grad Students!
Camden is a fine apartment for a grad student. It’s big and has great amenities. There are pros and cons to all apartments and this one sits right even with both. It’s affordable and in a great location, walking distance to Deep Ellum and the Farmers Market. Being around Deep Ellum makes it convenient for many bars. All in all, I personally have been satisfied!
live downtown, live Camden
This is a fantastic place to live if you want to be close to Deep Ellum and downtown. The property is clean, has a gated parking garage, and is close to the dart line!!
Camden Midtown Atlanta Pros/Cons
-Close to a grocery store
-Affordable for location and what you get
-Feels secure (though there is no direct security guard here if someone is wanting that specifically)
-Close to Grady and Midtown especially (can walk to Midtown easily)
-Includes gym and pool
-If you are in the North Ave building you may not get parking in the same building all the time (may have to park in the garage across the street)
-The pet fees are higher than other places I looked at ($500 per pet non-refundable fee and then $25 per pet monthly fee)
-Noise concerns are dependent on where your apartment is specifically located (i.e. noiser closer to restaurants/bars and overlooking pool potentially at certain hours)
Been a resident for two years. The apartment is expensive, however you will get what you pay for. The complex is secure with a parking lot underneath the apartment building. The place is quiet. I have had no pest problems. I have also had no maintenance issues that were not resolved in less than 24 hours (and none that were significant). There is a pool and a small gym (cardio equipment, a few leg machines, a cable station, and dumbbells - no barbell).
Location with a little noise
Can be a little loud on the weekends, but otherwise it’s in a great location and staff are nice.
Nice Apartment in Decent Transportation Zone
Camden Lamar is a nice place. Visually, the apartments are updated with beautiful country kitchen sinks, mahogany cabinets. I have a washer/dryer in my apartment. It’s a stunning space. However, management can be a little uptight (we have a community room that’s almost never open after hours when most of us would be here), and the UPS driver is unwilling to leave boxes at my door. I’m not quite sure if its an issue of stealing, but I frequently have to go to the actual UPS store due to the concern over leaving packages outside. There are plenty of pets, which gives rise to smells around the property. There’s only one bus that stops in front of the apartment and, due to the location, the Safe Ride with Lyft is just outside of the upper limit. I don’t have a car and have found getting around on public transportation a little difficult.
Love my apartment!
It's not CLOSE to school, but it's a very easy 30 min commute from NoMa to Farragut North (including the 10 minute walk to school from Farr North). It's so worth it. Great area with lots of new restaurants and more opening up. Insanely amazing amenities. Near Chinatown.
Everything is decent quality, but for the cost it would be nice to have appliances that are a little better. The utility bill also seems inordinately high. All that being said the floodplains are nice and there's plenty of storage and this place feel like a decent value.
Great location and management
Awesome location in Midtown. Easy to get to Emory - usually takes less than 15 minutes. Management is easily accessible and maintenance is always quick.
"Great location, but almost too great a location"
The location is great: 3.7 miles from campus, and about 15 minutes to school at most. We walk everywhere via the beltline and we are one block from Ponce City Market. The place is booming (expect rent increases) but the location is so great that it attracts a lot of noise. The noises include festivals, concerts, garbage trucks, lawnmowers, weed-eaters, and leaf blowers. The music events typically obtain a permit to break the quiet hours for Atlanta (10pm-7am) so you'll hear music thumping until midnight on most weekends, and at least 10pm on Sunday nights. Because we are in the middle of a row of apartment buildings with different management, you get to hear the garbage truck, the recycling truck, the lawnmowers, the weed-eaters, and the leaf blowers 3x more than you should because they don't coordinate, nor use the same services for some reason. We have a young child, so we are more sensitive to the noises, but if you're not worried about your sleep or your child's sleep, then it would be 10 all around. Noise is a big factor and we are lucky being on highest floor and corner, so we have few neighbors to worry about too much noise around or above us. Make sure you really consider everything from where the garbage trucks pick up and everything when you look at units.
