Happy with my Living Situation
The area is very close to the school (10min drive) and is safe, quiet, and clean. They recently opened a super cheap mexican restaraunt across the street which has great frozen margs! Maintenance is always very fast and kind (typically they come the next day, especially if its something like AC or hot water) and they always notify you in advance before entering your apartment. I have never heard my neighbors' TV or music playing, nor their conversations, although I do occasionally hear my neighbors walking around or doing household chores (vacuuming, slamming cabinets). I enjoy going on walks around the neighborhood, and Centennial Park is a 5min walk and always has lots going on. There is also a small area with a couple restaurants that is a 15min walk away. I also love sitting on my balcony! I don't really have difficulty finding parking in the garage and my guests are usually able to find parking on the street unless there is a big even going on at Centennial (which is rare). They also did not raise our rent at all when we renewed our lease. Ubers to downtown or any nearby neighborhoods are almost never over $20. I feel safe, rarely see bugs inside my apartment or the building, and have very respectful neighbors.
Great Location
Living two blocks from campus can't be beat. Management is helpful and maintenance lives in the building, so if something happens in the middle of the night, he's there, ready to help!
500sqft studio for one person with plenty of storage, updated appliances and tall ceilings. Hallways and communal spaces are clean and I love the gym and coffee machine in the main space!
Moderate sound transfer between units, but nothing too extreme. Right around the corner are restaurants and bars so it makes for a fun night out with a short walk home- no need to call an uber.
Safe building with multiple security layers and camera security in major spaces- living alone that was my number one concern, but I feel secure and safe!
Nice apartments!
The apartments are nice and the community is nice and safe
Great place to live!
We recently moved into Chattahoochee Ridge and it has been absolutely wonderful! Our experience from day one was nothing short of excellent. Aisha was our leasing agent and she showed professionalism and courtesy as well as patience. She walked us through the leasing process and was able to assist us with picking the perfect apartment for our needs.
The manager Alta has such a great team and you can tell they work together very well. Alta made sure the apartment was ready for us when we moved in and did her best to accommodate us. Would recommend this community to anyone looking for a beautiful, clean home environment. So happy we made this choice!
Average Apartment - wouldn’t recommend
I’ve lived in the apartment complex for four years now and it’s been on a steady decline. It used to be worth the price but the state of the facilities and amenities have declined, the staff aren’t friendly or every helpful, and it’s ultimately just not worth the money anymore.
One City Center Review
Ceiling to Floor Windows & Great Secrities
Best Value per Square Foot
The complex is nice and is the best price per square foot value in the broader Midtown area. The issue, however, is that the complex is not close to campus and takes 15 min door to door including parking. Additionally, there's not very much that's within walking distance of the development.
Great but slightly far
Great building, friendly staff, but slightly further away from Owen GSM (around a 15 minute walk).
One City Center, best modern apartment building in Durham
If you want to live in an apartment building that feels like it belongs in NYC, Miami, or Chicago (in a good way), look no further! The amenities are great, and the views are the best in town. The only con is that it is 10 minutes away from campus, and not many students live nearby, so having a way to commute around town is key.
The Shay Review
Great! Great for pets and a little bit more peaceful because it's more tucked away from traffic and there is a lot of green space. Very responsive management-my maintenance issues are always fixed promptly. Nice and roomy apartment.
Note 16
Location: Very near to Peabody college, but doesn't have any bus/store/grocery scores nearby. Convenient to go to school if you study in Peabody, but not convenient for living.
Price: High, doesn't match with the facilities and service.
Experience: Very noisy if living near street, the sliding door and floor are not sound-proof completely.
Service: Not following the waiting list and didn't get notification when the room visited was rent. Gym is super small. Maintenance comes quick.
Note 16 Apartments
I've had a very positive experience as a resident at Note 16 Apartments. Management was a little hard to get in touch with during the lease application process but since moving in they have been incredibly friendly and very responsive! Rent is definitely pricey for someone living alone on a graduate student stipend but the proximity to Vanderbilt campus as well as some local cafes & restaurants makes it well worth it. There's a small apartment gym in the lobby, covered parking, and a handful of nice communal areas to enjoy. My only complaints have been thin walls (I mostly have issues with hearing my upstairs neighbor) and somewhat limited storage space (1 bedroom closet, no bathroom or hall closets). Overall a really lovely place to live!
Safe, Clean, & Friendly
I have had a pleasant experience living here so far. Management is very nice and often has free pizza/food in the afternoons. Parking is not difficult to find, there is always enough. The staff are also very nice, the common areas are kept clean and maintenance comes within 24 hours of submitting a request. Most neighbors are respectful, with no loud parties, although I can hear my upstairs neighbors walking around and I can hear dogs barking occasionally. I feel safe coming home at night and don't worry about safety inside my apartment. You have to scan your keys or use a remote to get in the building or parking garage. It's super close to the park and not far from school, downtown, or restaurants. Also, NO BUGS!!! I have found a total of 2 bugs in my apartment in the past 3 months, when I used to find multiple a day at previous complexes.
West End Village is great!
I love my apartment at West End Village. I think the apartment is a good value for the area and have had no issues in my time living here. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the building is clean and secure. On the few occasions I have had to file a maintenance request for very minor problems, they responded so quickly, within a day every time! I would definitely recommend it to future graduate students.
Great but slightly far
I love our apartment building, it's small and does not have a lot of Vanderbilt students if that's what you're looking for. Very clean, the maintenance staff is amazing, has a pool, gym, and covered parking and the management is very active and responsive. The only downside is that it's slightly away from Owen, it would take us 20 minutes to get to school on foot, so we usually take the bus. The bus takes us 10 minutes to get to campus and is very convenient but we sometimes have to wait for it to arrive.
